Phil Ivey to boycot WSOP  0
I don't know if it's the real Ivey's facebook page or not...But the string of announcenments, sounded official, like from a PR team. In the statement's Ivey claims he's fed up with keeping silent, & he is going to sue titlware for every dollar owed to American player's. Ivey also said he would be boycotting the WSOP, until a solution was found for players both within the United States & without. If it's true. Bravo Mr. Ivey! Wish I could do something like that to show my disdain, unfortunately the WSOP is a bit above my bankroll. Ivey will alway's be one of my favorite's, as a matter of fact I may boycott watching the WSOP, if Ivey's not playing it. He's one of, if not my favorite player. Why watch it if he can't win?

Fair play to him. If it is him? Anyway I must say I have noticed the difference since the players from the US have been banned from playing cash games and freerolls. I only started taking poker seriously about 8 months ago and I figure that to be the best you have to beat the best. I know there are players from all over the world who are good, but I must admit while I am still trying to find "my style" I want to play all types and miss the US players for this reason.

Anyway GL to all you US players and lets hope if it is true that Ivey's protest does some good.

Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

Well, it looks real enough. Here is a link to an article at Bluff Magazine:

**sorry, can't link to that page due to its poker ads /admin**

It really doesnt affect me much because unfortunately i dont have much time to watch it, although i would love to watch. Think i will hve to keep with the best parts i can find on the net. About the american players, i didnt catch those news anywhere, which is strange, but, if true, than Ivey is doing a great job, but watchers dont have nothing to do with his cause, so they should continue watching WSOP in the same!

Its not that I dont care, truely I do, this situation is obserd and reflects all the outher problems there are within govenments, hooves for fingers all of them.
However WSOP has nothing whatsoever to do with PS anf FT ignoring the law and doing what they belive is right, even if it is, there are plenty of llaws I dont like, but I dont go making a point by breaking them, govenment greed and pokersites greed.
Its very odd to me that someone is satin I will not play WSOP due to bad/slow payments from pokersites.
Is this not what the law was intended for, to get the US of poker, well well done boycott poker Thumbs Up , English or Yank, I find it all very ironic.

Regardless of what motives Ivey have I must say that I really appreciate this statement. And if he really stated this because of other players then I admire this man even more! Then he is two times GREAT. Great player, great man....

One of WSOP's main sponsor's is FullTilt I believe. That is why Ivey is not playing it, & I will not watch it. It may not effect them, but I doubt ANY sponsors want to hear of ANYBODY not watching their advertisments, they payed precious money for. The reason I said "if" earlier is bc I first saw the news via FB and wasn't sure if it was Ivey's official page or not.
