Cake Poker, any good?  0
Greetings all,

I've been playing here lately and would appreciate your thoughts on this network/site.

Also I've been playing cash games (as they don't offer my favorite type of SnG)
so I was wondering if you could recommend some books or instructional media
that really helped you improve this aspect of your game.

Thanks for the advice.

Once upon a time I played in Cake, and could said that the site is suck. The fpp points so hard to collect for propper bonus. Very low trafic Sleepy I left it after a month.

If you want to read something, i would suggest to search for "Harrington on Hold'em". But you know that always the best choice will be find yourself a coach.

GOOD LUCK Thumbs Up

cake is decent site to play at if you have rakeback but bonus is hard to clear.
but recently they struggling with delayed cashouts, maybe black friday will improve their condition and get them some traffic but dont keep much money there.

I play at cake and is prety good this site, but the trafic is a litle low. You dot find player at any stakes.
Yes the cake points are hard to colect i think that you need to make 2 dolars rake for one point it is a stupidity

I'm also wondering when I'll stumble onto a site that I could enjoy as much as I enjoyed FT and PS. Very disappointing to be left out of the electronic poker games I used to play on these sites. My favorite was the SnG's also and haven't found any site that pacifies me at this time. I'm losing hope as a U.S. citizen when it comes to electrnic poker sites. Any references are deeply appreciated! Good Luck to All!

their first deposit/reload bonusses/rakeback and rake races are easy to clear..i used to play nl20 fr on doyles room but i left this site... had so many bad luck there....in the end i even wanted to instafold QQ because i knew that another would have AA or i would run into a set...this happened nearly all the time to me... i just gave up playing there because i tilted in every session like hell lol

anyway but if you have rakeback there and are taking all the reload bonusses you will have a nice rakeback rate.
good luck

Never played in this Networh so far.
What would be the best room to try out ?
Maybe I will give it a try just because of a nice rakeback deal.

I also thought the bonus clearing at Cake Poker was pretty reasonable. If you calculate it out at the tourney fee rate it is: 83.33FPP per $5 back and you get 7FPP per $1 in tourney fees so that's (5/11.904) = 42% rakeback (at least til your deposit bonus runs out). Seems like a pretty good rate to me. So far I'm down about $10, we'll see.

Good luck but personally i don't like the cake poker network at all. First of all i don't like their software, it's inferior to the one you find on full tilt poker or pokerstars. Secondly the other guys are right, the bonus is much harder to clear compared to other poker sites and platforms.
And then there is the traffic issue, you'll fin way less traffic than on other major poker platforms, plus they have some weird buy ins for sit and go and tournaments.
The only good thing which it comes to mind is the rakeback offer, if i remember correctly you can get up to 50% rakeback from some cake poker platforms, which is really good of course.
Overall i would suggest to try another platform, like 888 or the merge network, they are more profitable Blink
Good luck at the tables!

yeah the deposit bonus looks fine but i have rakeback so make half the points and they have dealt system of rake which decreases points earned too unless you are a tight nit in which case its good for you. anyway gl with your bonus
btw what games/stake u play there?

I do not like the Cake poker network, it is very difficult to clear the bonus, PS is much easier because of the dealt rake method.

I'm beginning to agree with you on those points Macuubas, especially the traffic. One of the major annoyances I've found with the inferior software is that the lobbies don't update mid game. You need to keep re-opening them to get accurate info.

I was playing cash games but swung up then down wildly and have swithed to DoN's, for now at least.

I don't think with DON you'll be able to clear that bonus, from what i know from friends bonuses are even harder to clear on the cake network than on the other poker platforms out there, including party poker. If you didn't read my posts from beginning i must refresh you that i took the no deposit bonus offer for party poker and after playing an hour , 4 tables on the lowest stakes i onlt earned around 1.1 party points, which was waayy too less compared to other sites like pokerstras and full tilt poker where points seem to build up extremly fast.
For example on full tilt poker i was able to get 100 full tilt points in just two days, and i even didn;t realized i maked them Smile
For me poker traffic and software is much more important than a no deposit offer or generous rakeback offer Blink Good luck and keep us posted!

So all in all you cannot recommend Cake Poker, because of too low traffic and hard to clear bonus ?
The only thought I had was signing up there for the rakeback deal.
But if the traffic is that low, the its not very interesting to play there I guess.

Hey guys, thanks for the interest.

As it stands I'm still getting my but kicked at Cake, I'm down $40 so far (and that's including a $5 bonus payout), blech. I think I need to start out betting people because tight aggressive just doesn't seem to be working for me here.

Agree with you about the bonus Macuubas, with DoN's the bonus is slow going.

MIG, you can also add the software to that list, it's several classe lower than the one you find on full tilt poker or pokerstars, in fact i think the software on party poker is a bit better than the one on cake network. But as for the rakeback deal you are right, there is the best rakeback deal you can find on the net today. In fact i know one of the sites in the cake poker network offer a massive 50% rakeback offer to their players via bankrollmob, if i'm right it's fat bet poker.
For all cash players that know the power of rakeback thats very important to know, i mea there are situations in whic only the rakeback keeps you at a specific limit and didn't make you come lower in stakes at the end of a bad week Blink
From my short experience at cake try to do overbets when you have a good hand than the usual conti bet or pot size bet especially against fish players, it really seems to do wonders against them. Just try it out and report back. And yes, in order to realese a bonus you need to play cash games. Good luck! Smile

Ha ha, Yes! I noticed that too, about needing to overbet substantially. If I don't want chasers I have to raise by at least 200% of the current pot. I haven't played yet today but I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow.

HsH80, I found those threads, that's pretty sketchy, has anyone heard of other poker sites removing funds you won because of "chip dumping"?

@ HsH80 - just read the thread Shock Shock
really sucks for the guy who won that much, its like giving candy to a kid and then taking it back.
but have to say the support of cake is very poor, i had 2-3 incidents with them and all they did was send weird automated vague replies.
