Im just wondering if this is in the allowed spectrum of poker strategy?im an older bloke with a 5 year old daughter,im teaching her right from wrong and we as a family dont judge,she dosent use the words paki,jew,n****r,chink,pom,spik,natzi,etc...why?its racist...im Scottish and had an English bloke the other night calling me a skirt wearing haggis bashing ginger(im not) tight fisted mother fuc*%r soap dodger inbred wank%r caber tossing junkie with a bad national football team!!!im not inbread and not ginger(close with the rest.... but no is this form of abuse acceptable to tilt a player or is it just down and out RACISM?

Joking. Seriously though - yes it's unacceptable - but people are pricks and racism is rife across the world.. In any form of online chat you will experience, I don't think it's any worse at the poker tables than it is anyway else. That said, if you report this kind of language offenders will generally receive temporary chat bans with repeat offenders eventually getting permanent bans...
------------ In saying that - I have seen instances of "racism" on the poker tables that I do think are really just attempts to tilt and there is no real hate behind the words. But it can be difficult to make the distinction and I think in most cases there is genuine malice behind the words, even when it is an attempt to TILT somebody, I still think there is more often than not actual racism that fuels that kind of behavior.. There are plenty of non-racist ways to tilt somebody.

Whether malice is intended or not, I think there definately should be a level of respect at the tables. I know from experience what it's like to lose my cool and blast some idiot that sucked out and I've payed the price. My first occurance cost me my chat privledges for a month and the second occurance cost me 3.
As much as we can lose it when things don't go our way, we need to maintain a level head.

Paki, deemed a s racist, but is it, in the UK its a common word and most of the time said without malice, yes it probably does offend Pakistanis, but most of the time just said as a shortened word. Jews call each other Jews, again said without malice its not racist. N****r only racist if the person saying it is not colored, those who are colored sometimes prefer to be called black rather than colored, but supposedly colored is the accepted term, even though blacks find that racist. Chink racist Pom, Pfff like poms give a s**t about PC, NO f**k that we have humor. Spik, racist Natzi even though nazies tend to be racists, the term nazi is not, but is offensive to none nazis.
Its possible the guy saying that stuff is racist, chances are he is just having a LOL, trying to get a reaction, TBH normally we can banter with the Scots... SORRY that's racist, Scottish, seam all we are left with now is those Kangaroo loving dingo convict descendants who sound like New Zealanders drinking watered down beer all wanting to be poms.

I cannot accept racism in any way so also not at an online poker table. But nvertheless I don´t care much about what people say in the chat. Mainly I will just laugh about such people.

yep lots of wankers in the world and at the table, what i have noticed idiots that come away with crap like that i just laugh at them and wind them up. They tend to be the ones that tilt and are easy tilted it seems

Oh come on people. In htis days there are really racists around there. It is a subject that the most people do not speak of. I already have suffer racism in the table and is not funny at all.

I used to repsond to such comments in the past, but not any more Either i watch them ranting or i disable the chat. There are some rare occasions though that i just wanna have a laugh and i get involved. Not that i take them seriously

I like alot these kind of terms moneky to back people, nazi to germans, ignorants to russian, jews to israeli players, garbage to brasilian player, and corrupt son of a bit** to fcporto fans.
Oh wait no big feelings its just the way iam. One thing about poker, we should never take too serious about players coments, i usually make good friends (in a way) after a big tilting fight on the tables. I loose i get piussed off, trhen i win and everything is fine. Its just how it works.

there's racism everywhere but i guess in poker its just more a**holes than anything else. there's no direct contact and badmouthing u or ur country, well, lets face it, u can always say something about some country right? they r just trying to tilt u or they r just drunk. who cares...

I'm often named spaghetti while playing.... but as you can guess from my avatar I just have a laugh in those cases the same when they write mafia pizza etc etc
