Strategy for dealing with villains that slow play Aces  0
I don't have one (a strategy) but would like to know if anyone does.

I've been playing a few mirco MTT's lately on iPoker and have had a little success here and there.

However I have come accross a lot of players that slow play aces and every time I run into one I am either knocked out or crippled. For example I might be in middle position with JJ so I raise if first in or if there's a limper before. Villain (could be limper) just flat calls, flop is 9 7 3 I bet he re-raises. I now find it very difficult not to shove as I figure he is most likely to have A9, A7, A3, or a straight draw. Turns out he has AA and I'm stuffed unless I get lucky on the turn or river.

Is this a serious leak or just something that I have to get used to?

Why slowplaying aces in a tournament like this?
Its a chance of increasing your stack.
While i cant beat the fact that they get cracked often i cant slow play them Smile

Good question but there is not really a strategy against this slow play strategy, i men it's their fault if they slow play such a hand, it's not your mistake...

Always make sure to take in considerarion that they could have aces, i mean they could hit trips but in that moment i'm sure they'll bet strong Blink

In MTT especially with such a hand you want to go all in preflop Smile

Yeah, I gotta agree with every one else here, too. Slow playing Aces is something that is a big gamble and is going to happen more frequently at the low stakes. If you can afford it play higher stakes. If not settle in cause it's going to keep happening. But press on.

Just like arsenj1 said, you can't really have a strategy against that kind of unorthodox play. Sometimes you're the one that's gonna cripple/bust him out, basicly they're just hoping to get lucky... But of course in the example that you mentioned, It was just the perfect timing to slow play aces.

Good luck next time sir!

a good way to avoid people playing aces slow is just to set/flush mine, its also the most effective tool for stacking donks in low limits, because u limp to see a pot, you either hit your set/flush draw if not its an easy fold

not much you can do against it but if you know they do it well i like to get in alot of hands with them with small pairs suited connectors and so on as if you hit with them you can take there stack. If he is sitting really tight and you think he may have a monster when he raises i will sometimes reraise if he calls you know he got something good and if he re-shoves just fold. Its also a good thing to reraise with garbage hands to because alot of the times they fold and when you do it with As, Ks so on they dont believe you and you can take there stack Smile

allowing opponent to believe they have the best hand, changing gears and turning into a calling station...bluff inducing... and then reraising on the river to take down a payday. Hard to defend against, on the right bosrd this play is very effective. I don't play this style, I've lost to it, and, seen others lose to it...they take pride in winning by walking the dog. It's the river that tells the story raises and reraises give them up so a fold here ensures losing the minimum.
