Suggestion when siging up.  0
When people i personally know sign up and ask me to help them through the whole proccess, i help them through all the steps. Upon doing this, i have noticed when you send you confirmation email, they all say they didnt get it, but i have to remind them to check thier BULK, because when you send you activation link to an email, it goes to their bulk, and many people dont check their bulk, therefore they think they never recieved it, and this site is fake. I think when you sign up, you should add that it is possible the activation link is located in their bulk, so people know, i feel this is why many of my signups are stuck on activation.

This problem often happens to freemail-providers. But if the new users would read the help section(FAQ) they know about this problem and how to proceed. The FAQ could be of help Blink

BankrollMob´s Frequently Asked Questions page states:

We recommend not using Hotmail e-mail addresses and similar free webmails, as they very often have problems receiving our activationmail.

Unfortunately, not many people have the patience to read all the topics and therefore give up easily when confronted with minor setbacks. Maybe a brief warning when signing up, indeed, will be a great idea. Thumbs Up

Wouldn`t a email have to be a few megabytes to be send to bulk? Why would BankrollMob`s email be a few MBs. I don`t know.

Gene, no, no, the criterias, of course, depend on the settings, but e-mail size has nothing to do with spam mail at first glance. Can you imagine all the friends who have sent you pictures, or a girl just sending you her phone number? In both cases, they are the opposite extremes, large e-mail and short, light e-mail. Both of them will appear in your inbox, no problem.

I figured it was the size of the email cause everytime I looked in my bulk folder there was large emails in there and cause I thought bulk meant large. But I see yahoo mail changed the name from bulk folder to spam folder. ''Yahoo! Mail will deliver suspected spam to this folder'' Okay, I got it thanks fodz.

Now, just to get back on track here, about the signing-up suggestion. Maybe instead of a confirmation link, just a simple code could do the job and prevent the e-mail from going directly into the spam folder, otherwise I see no other option but just to either do check the folder or change the spam filter settings.

I think there used to be some kind of "check your spam filter"-message somewhere during the signup process, but I can't remember for sure.

However, I added the text now, so people shouldn't be in doubt.

Thank you Admin, I am positive that even those few lines really CAN make a difference. Always nice to see a suggestion followed by a solution. Great job.

Dannyjon i also had the same problem with some of my friends thinking it was a scam and not wanting to upload the ID and stuff. I simply logged into my account and showed them there is nothing dodgy or unsecure about the site and that there details would be secure. Try this it worked for me , i hope it can for you too. Smile

We also send out reminders a few times a month, to remind people to activate/verify their account. This will be automated as soon as we get time to make a script for it, so the reminder mails will be sent out a few times every week.

Ah thats nice Admin Smile I see out of the 40 signups I currently have, like 6 people didn't activate their account yet, thats a pity!
