Look at my MTT graph, guess that's variance right there (especially if you consider my average buy in is only $4). And did ever see me opening a kind of thread that you make day by day?

Nice graph, that's quite the unffortunate down swing, sounds like you're coping though. Just out of curiosity (if you don't mind me asking) what's the time frame on those 1200 games? Also why did you decide to play these tournaments specifically.

the timeframe is about 8 months,it's MTT-only though and I play much more SNGs than MTTs by now (I have just under 6K games overall on stars, all over 8 months since thats when I started playing).
The reason why I play/played them is,well,MTTs are just really soft and can get the highest ROI possible. when I started playing MTTs at all,I played MTTs-only,then started mixing SNGs in to lower the variance (since the variance in these massfields is just painful),not play only a few MTTs per day and probably 90% of my volume in SNGs

This can happen alot, the reason why you are pissed is because you are not using proper "bankroll management". Something that is very important to prevent you from going broke.
Let's say you have 25 buy-ins for NL2(0.01/0.02), you always buy-in with 100BB at a table so that would be 2$. Your bankroll should be 50$ in order for you to play without going broke due to variance. You can go broke however by playing bad. If you have 25 buy-ins for NL2 and you lose AA vs KK you won't be this mad because it is only 1 buyin and you know that in the long term you will be getting money out of this opponent.

Nice summary Noisecore, that's pretty much the truth of the matter, if you want to be successful in the long term Bank Roll Management is essential.
Thanks for clarifying the time frame ATM, that's some serious variance but more profit than I've seen so far maybe I should start adding a few MTT's to my game.

Yeah well in must be though to have a nice solid graph for MTTs. Most of the time, you either win big or play 10 tournaments in a row without cashing ^^

I'd be happy if it was only 10 tourneys most of the time lol According to bluffmagazine's tracking site my biggest non-cash streak was 40 in a row,and I had 30 streaks of 15+ tourneys without cashing once
