I read that Spain have new regulatory laws which block actual Spanish online players to make transfers with poker sites. They want online poker to be licensed and regulated and to do so and keep giving online players the opportunity to keep the activity, they will launch “dot.es” sites. I think they will be completely controlled by the Spanish government. About the winnings, if they give the opportunity to play the same type of games, things will work out as they do now, maybe the only thing that changes can be about the rake. I am sure Spanish government will want to receive from all the money that is transferred there. Online rooms that accept this will have to pay taxes, maybe the rake will be higher, or the tourney buy-ins can increase the part that goes directly to the room, and, of course, also for the state. And if this works well, maybe Portugal will do the same in the nearby future.

Spain is one of the countries that are enforcing laws in order to get more income of their citizens. A little more tax never hurt a government right? I want to be wrong here, but i believe more countries will follow.

Posted by initiator: true where ever there is money , it wont take long and the state will be there trieing to get its part.
Typical, i already build wheel-chair ramps the province over playing state lotteries and never winning but now the man wants some of my cake too?
Is it just me or is it silly that people actually believe any government needs more money? the whole point is to take a percentage of citizen wages to maintain the country. If they cannot manage the country with said amount then an election should be had to find someone who can. Throwing more money at retards who have had no success and more then fair share of failure is a donk mentality.
Whats worse is the companies should be the ones paying and in a way they will be, but only because they offset the cost to us and once again the bottom gets the b******t.

Once an issue gets political, it'll get myred down by the process. NOTHING will proceed quickly and everyone will get exactly what they don't want or need. Gov's are infamous for cash grabs...this is no different.

23 of december and still the same situation, are you afraid to spanish players maybe high pulse? jajaja, nothing about a law of online poker sites, its a thing with only high pulse and spanish players, why? we will know soon i hope. but is the second problem that i have with this new online site of poker...
This sounds like a situation created by a desperate governing body looking for a way to find new taxable income(s). Seems like they are barring sites from operating until they apply for a licence. The pricetag for an operating licence could run up to a million per site per year.

I remember reading something about players from Spain asking for permission to play poker and if you deposite more than (don't recall the sum, but its not to big) you would have to actually take a shrink test in order for you to get it granted.. The fact that they aren't answering your emails is just plain crocked..

I,m a spanish player in the same situation. I tried to cash out my bankroll one week before Blocking. The asked me for some documents, - Copy of ID card (front and back) or passport - Bank Statement or Utility bill no older than 3 months showing your home address, to verify my account. Once it was verified, I recieved the email telling me that I could procceed whith the cashout and when i tried to log in my account, I found it closed.
I answer myself it, it would be posible to acces to my account from another country. Why could be check it.
