Down $50  0
I just had a terrible streak on Pokerstars. Didn't place in my last 10 $5 sit and gos..so down $50..I had some terrible beats..kings vs 5,6 offsuit, Ace queen vs ace 9, ace 10 vs ace 9, 7s vs 10 8 offsuit, that one got my on tilt, Qs vs ace 9, ace king vs 2s. It was unreal... And these were huge pots, if I win them I'm way out in front. And I was the raiser and they call with those junk hands..Whats worse, i got knocked out 4th out of 9 places and 3rd place gets money.

I keep making cash in cashgames and then decide to stake myself in a $5 or $10 sit and go, and I always manage to lose with the best hand. I should stop playing sit and gos but for some reason I always win in a cashgame then waste that profit on a sit and go lol.

Ya, I see a lot of suck outs in $5 games. Maybe I should move up to $10 ones. I'm usually profitable in sit and gos but when you go all in before flop they're going to suck out 1 in 3 times or 1 in 5 times and it seems they suck out more than that..

Ive played 2 tourneys at Pokerstars yesterday and the day before. Situation there is worse since i last played there. After 20 minutes of tourney 2/3 of players out. I havent checked the cash games but i dont think that it is much more different on low limit tables. Bunch of maniacs.

those aren't exactly terrible beats, but i can empathize. i've had the dominating hand on countless occasions, and lost to someone who gets "lucky" or stupidly calls with a beat hand and catches a river.

Ofcourse you should step up Smile if you got a nice ROI on 5$ and the roll is for it. You seem pretty solid and I've seen your graph on sharkscope I would def. mean you are ready to step up. But stepping up in the midle of a date with Mrs Variance is a bad idea, get back on track and then step up Cool

Good luck

To comfort you I can tell you I just played 3 hour session where I got KK extremely many times and lost everyone in a sick way. Besides that nothing really worked and 3 hours 2 tables NL50 ended in + 15,44$ not exactly the result I was looking for. Here are some examples:

AKs vs AJo: (guy is maniac) I raise 4 BB he shoves and he is shortstacked + he's done it a couple of times on others and won with worst. 4 diamond on board and he wins with flush.

KK vs 66: im in BB with 1 limper I raise 5BB he calls, flop Q-10-2 rainbow I con-bet he calls, turn Q-10-2-3 I bet pot he shoves I call river 6 and he has a set Sad
Total donk!

QTs vs Q-Jo: I raise 4 BB from dealer SB click raise I see flop J-J-9 he insta checks and I know he got a J why would he raise and insta check so I check too, turn J-J-9-K and he insta shoves and I insta call river J-J-9-K-K and he wins with house.

KK vs A-4o: im on dealer/button whatever and has 1 limper behind me I raise 5BB blinds fold limper call, flop 2-3-3 he checks I con-bet he shoves I insta call runner runner spades and he has a flush with his 4 Evil GRRR

K-8s vs J-8o he limps behind me I raise 5 BB he calls, flops a str8 and check it I con-bet he calls turn is a K which made me feel a litle bit better but the board was scary so I check also river gives me str8 but I really had a feeling he could have the str8 so I only call his small bet to see he has a higher str8 Shock But this 1 was fair and square just a lucky limp-call donkey.

I can't remember all hands but this was some examples from my evil session.

M3turbo, must've been a rough day. I had my fair share of bad days, all I can do is quit for the day or else I start playing worse.

Ya, I'll start out playing $5 games and if I play good than I'll move up to $10.

I have to learn cash game style cause it is a lot different.

GL with your cash game.

Yeah it was a rough day and I seem to have alot of them lately Sad
The thing about cash is you have to "gamble"/put pressure on opponent and you can do it without too many concerns since you allways can rebuy and dont have to think of "tourney life"/survival.(sometimes in tourneys I feel I have the best hand or posibly a race situation but wont risk tourney life cause im only ahead a couple of %)
I played S&G in the start and when I started cash I lost but after a while I got the hang of it and also felt it developed my game alot. Especially my feeling with the game, I read the board alot better now and im a strong believer that cashgame can help your tourney game. But yes it's totally different and I feel that I have to turn a switch when I reg. for a tourney. I clear my thoughts and plan inside my head how I will change my game because it's tourney. How you play draws, small pockets, position etc etc etc

ha ha thats the worst it happends to me and my buddy all the time... in order to be in the money you have to place X position.. and we always place X - 1 position so just out of the money and its soooo annoying!!

You guys with the free $50 bonus should know how to manage it, just play low stakes Sit & Go's, heads up or MTTs. You'll lose a lot if keeping play that $5 Sit & Go's Shock

Ehh we are not all just started like you but thanks for the advice anyways Smile

i don't think gene's BR is jst the 50$ ... i think he has the BR for the 5$ SnGs and don't recommend to play HU it's way too swingy when you are not a total expert in it !

yep Acekaiser you are right about that....even if you are a solid HU player it's very swingy like you said, also omaha is a no go since there are much more luck involved.

I've played headsup for a couple months, I was profitable but had big swings and got on tilt very easily and had to quit for the day. The reason I tried headsup cause it costs .25 instead of .50 rake.

My bankroll is about $800 on Pokerstars, will cashout soon and deposit again when reload bonus comes.

And ya, I think learning cash game can improve tournament game. I also hear a lot that learning other forms of poker can help too.

Hey GeneYuss I understand the rake is smaller but your winning potential is also smaller.

If you want to step up dont withdraw you'll get reload bonus anyways.

"also hear a lot that learning other forms of poker can help too"

I've heard that too but never done anything about it, only played a litle bit limit hold'em which ofcourse is the same just with limit lol and a litlle bit of 5 card draw which is a kind of luckbox poker in my eyes but never really put any effort into it so cant realy say Smile

EDIT: sorry double post, internet lag.

Ya, winning potential is a lot smaller in heads up. I noticed Sad Another reason I liked headsup is because they only took 10-15 min instead of an hour and I could focus on just that one game.

I'll focus on 9 person tables now, those are a lot more steady for my bankroll.

I've played some Omaha sit and gos on accident and won about half of them. Really don't like that Hi/Lo crap , I had the nuts but they had like the nut low so we split. Don't really understand it exactly.

------------
BTW, can I withdrawal than deposit it right back and still get reload bonus?

Yes you can but why would you withdraw only to deposit it again? I don't know how Stars is with the reload bonus' but at PP and other sites they come regularly like 1 time a month or so and not only when you are broke.
Ehhh 9 handed are you playing at FTP or does stars also have 9 handed?
When I played S&G I allways played fullring 9-10 players, found them to be most profitable. But I know for a fact that most people who live by playing S&G are playing 6 handed or HU.

I would want to withdrawal $800 than deposit it right back instead of depositing another $600. Not sure if you can withdrawal than still get reload bonus, I have to ask them.

PS only has reload bonus about once a year so that's why I don't want to miss it. PS is getting is a little stingy on the bonus, last year it was deposit 500, get 1700points in 6 months. Now, you have to deposit 600, get 2475 points in 3 months to get the same bonus.

"But I know for a fact that most people who live by playing S&G are playing 6 handed or HU."

Thats cool, I think I might play headsup in the future. Check out "Dariominieri" on sharkscope. He's crazy Smile

Ehh I don't know PS rules about the reload bonus but a greedy guy like you Blink must get better bonus' if you ask me. 1 time a year WTF ? If you are greedy why not start bonus whoring, nothing wrong in it and it's a very nice add to the profit, you should really consider it. There are nice first deposit bonus' around but also alot better reload bonus' than 1 time a year.
"Dariominieri" pretty sick but "only" number 5 on sharkscope leaderboard with 5 % ROI and an "unstable" graph Blink compared to number 1 "livb112" lol with 6% ROI but alot better looking graph.

Yuss,, aint going to comment on your bad streak we all get them and ive sen your stats and know your good so you will come back ,,, just one point I would like to make on your starting point in your first post. I noticed you came 4th 3 times in 10 seat tables, do you always play 10 seat stgs, I dont play 10 seats you do get paid for 3 places true but you have 7 players to beat to get a place. In a 6 seat you only get 2 places true but you only have to beat 4 to get there. A win in a 10 seat pays $50 dollars and a win in a 6 seat pays $42 so the point being why play 10 seat tables ,,, ok some like the the 10 seat format so if you like the 10 seat carry on but dont you think 6 seat tables are better,,, I am sure you have played many ,,,,,what ya think??????
