I've been getting real bad luck on hold 'em for months, and I haven't played it the last few weeks, as I've been trying to take a break to see if that gets me out of this colossal downswing. But I was bored. So I played the 27 single draw freeroll on PS. I've played it like twice before, I actually had to check up the hand rankings like 1 min before the tourney, I'm that much of a noob to it. But as soon as it started it was just like I had a natural feel for it. I was taking fish out right left and centre and very early on had an absolute monster of a stack. When about 2hrs had pad passed it seemed like I was now having to play strategically. The blinds where going up every 15 mins and the levels weren't steep but there was a constant ante. I had about 150bb for about an hour, it was now playing more like a limit game than a NL game, with big pots happening less often with better players. I got caught by one in the end, had about 40bbs left after it, and for 4 hrs was just playing between 20-60bbs. I survived with my short-ish stack until the bubble because people with stacks of around 200k sat out and got blinded out. Because they done it way too early, and people like me wouldn't die. Just before the bubble burst I had a monster stack, I think because I wouldn't die people with bigstacks where going on tilt with me but I was playing well at that point, and i took a few of them out. I had about 1M chips when the bubble burst at 56 people. For some reason it carried on and I thought its been like 7hrs for a freeroll of a game I'm a total noob at. I may aswell try to win it, it went on for about another hour until 20 people left. I was now getting severe brain and eye ache, and was very tired. The blinds werent that big in comparision to stacks, and it was literally doing my head (and eyes) in. I just then adopted an annoying strategy of doing 250-500K pre flop hit and run bets EVERY HAND. Came 2nd in the end. I was almost dead from brain ache went to bed and collapsed lol. Oh yeah I got entry to a weekly round 2 from it, but in the tournament lobby the link for the tourney was a stud game if any one knows if I can get in a NL27SD one it would help me.

well beside the standard nl holdem and even pl omaha there are lots of more poker forms and switching from the stardard ones to the rarer ones is a joyful experience most of the time- yes you may lose some cash at first, but at least poker becomes a more enjoying experience once again
i have a storey like that i my self had enough of no limit about 9 years ago, and tryed omaha high and low, took to it like a duck to water and its my bread and butter now always good to try differnt games imo, good luck in ya next tourney and keep us updated n how you go pal

i like nl 2-7 played it for a while and won a few than lost a few ... took a break ... started back playing it again this week played 4 came 2nd in one 3rd in one and lost two ... found the standard of play has improved since the last time ... a lot of very agg players ... But in saying that the hardest part is if your not hitting your hands its a frustrating game eg you have 4 very good cards and keep hitting pairs or and the positive side is the cards can just run great for you and the game is easy. any gl to you ... might see you at the tables sometime
