wow, i nearly won my 1st tourney tonight, playing in the $1.10 dollar dazzler,i had an add-on for $1.10 as well,so $2.20 stake. Early on i had to dodge a few madmen, you know the type all-in with 9-3 or something, when i saw their cards i was saying to myself"why didn't i call there",anyway i managed to work my way through the field till i got to the final table (woo-hoo).started the ft in 6th place and after a couple of dodgy all-ins on my part to steal the blinds i was up to 3rd,i'll try and remember the chip count, i think it was: 1st- 1.100,oo 2nd- 486,00 me - 180,00 roughly
as you can see i was a bit off the leader, even 2nd spot, well i doubled up against the leader with my QQ holding against his wait for it 10-6 off,yes 10 bloody 6,then i caught him again with JJ against his A-J now i'm chip leader, now the other guy takes the rest of his chips and i'm h/up. after about 5 or 10 minutes of nothing really comes the final hand,
i get K -J off
the flop comes 9,10 Q rainbow,s**t i said i'm in here, praying he hit as well, so i bet 50k, he raises to 132,k i figure no use messing about and go all-in, if he wins it's all over if i win he's got 50k left and crippled he insta calls, then he turns over Q-9 turn is a J no help then the river yep a bloody 9, giving him his boat stunned all i could say was gg and left the table that 1 card cost me 60 dollars 1st -$196 2 nd- $130
so close but overall i'm happy with my play in this tourney as i didn't do a lot wrong (i dont think) wish i could play like that more often,l anyway the $130 smashes my previous best cash which was #58 for another 2nd place a couple of weeks ago, just hope i can manage this better all in all a very good night for me,just had to share it .

Grats man - Although, I understand the frustration of coming 2nd in an MTT - as much as it's is literally the second best you can do, once you've been stuck in the HU battle for a while, you really get your eyes on that first place.
Particularly because the difference between 1st and 2nd is generally huge. The closer you get to the top, the bigger the gap between places grows.
I had a similar experience losing the HU of an MTT on PKR recently, actually - it was the game I was playing when we were having our game - the heads up lasted for 1hr and 20min and I end up losing with 1010 vs A4 when he spikes a bloody ace..
Like you said - just 1 card making all that difference.
------------ GL chasing your first 1st. Come over to PKR - fields are shorter so it's easier to bink one of them!

Congratz Teddy, I saw you getting better and better in Hero. More familiar with your opponent and your table reading improve ? Do you play satellite $1.1 buy in ? Try it, and you can enjoy higher buy in tourney cheaply. Good luck there

thanks jesse, aye you get to the ft and your happy but when you've got a chance to win it's a bit disappointing when you lose it. c'est la vie (or something like that)
serpang, i don't generally play satellites but i will try a few and see how i get on,do you play on hero? what's your name on it and i'll look out for you.
bullettooth, i started playing on ft about 4 yrs ago, played a little while and stopped ,about i year ago i started on stars and tried a couple of other rooms,so been playing regularly now for just over a year, hopefully i've been improving and my 1st win is just around the corner

Well done for your 2nd place...... agree its very frustrating when you get to FT and then get to Heads Up only to bust out. One note of caution though. Dont rely on this one game meaning you will go on and win everything and that you are now invincible. Retain your patience and lose some games to retain reality and aim for the ultimate win and enjoy it.

Nice work man. I can imagine the play in those tournies is nuttier than a squirrel turd, minefields well dodged, really unlucky with that 2nd when you flopped nuts.
Reminds me of a flush I hit HU in a 10k event - trouble is the other dude hit a spade flush as well and had a Q high flush to my 8 high.

Yeah, I was play on hero till last month. Start early April I stop play there, busy play league at other site with membership system, we play with tourney points. League is not leaderboard system where unlimited play. On league we play limited, 20 tourney every month. So I waste my money if not optimize play there
My nickname on hero is chopoff. hope see you soon on hero Good luck
