Weekly Round 2  0
Going to do the weekly round 2, I won a seat to from the 2-7NL single draw freeroll on ps 2moro. Just wondering how many people are usually in the hold em one? Do you think its a good idea doing a late reg 10 mins late aswell? The reason I was thinking that is, I'm only planning on playing aa, and kk, unless I'm handed an ideal situation with jj or aj suited etc, and that would preserve my stack a bit for when I can extract real value out of them.

When your AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK, AQ never come untill your stack 30 - 40% remain ? what will you do ?
At the time you see your crap card is winning hand. Look situation, poker can't be target should be like this, or like that. Good luck anyway, I wish you play your winning style Smile Smile

I'm going to limp in position with j10 suited etc maybe if it feels right, but definitely going to be nitty, to avoid getting myself in donk mode.

I've played quite a few times WR2... It's not that difficult to obtein some money, 'cause as usual there are a lot of fishes playing there.

My advice is: Play saturday, less sharks on saturdays. Register before the tournament beggins. Don't play that tight, you must be a little bit agressive in that tournament in order to get ITM. You'll be able to make some chips with hands as K10s, KQs/o, 1010, 99, etc.

If you play as tight as you want, you'll find yourself short stacked and won't get ITM 'cause will be loosing AA vs 46s. Play it agressive from late positions with a wider range of cards and you'll get chips.

Regards,
Aces.

as for tournament strategy, each player has a different winning method that he or she has been working on for their entire poker life, whether you know it or not. just play comfortably and in position. as for the late registering you defended yourself by saying there is little value for big hands in early stages.
I disagree with this. There are way to many fishy players who get eliminated from tournaments in the very early rounds. knowing that people are willing to risk their entire stack, even when they are 50BB or more deep gives incredible implied odds for your premium hands, and also gives great value to your marginal hands. since the blinds are cheap early on and a lot of fishy players want to see that flop this gives your great opportunities to double, triple, or quadruple up early on.
I dont know to much about PS tournys but it seems like there is a lot of fish in that pond.

Take it down

I have no idea about field, but if a big field there tends to be lots of donks to exploit early on, in that sort of game I am happy to play quite loose to start, not the recommended strategy, but I'm happy to bust early or get a big stack to bully with.
Float alot and test the blinds for easy steal and traps.
Nothing wrong with your beginning strategy, but better to to sit out and watch, and with luck you might get the dream hands and can sit back in and play them.
I would be raising with j10 in position.

I didn't late reg in the end, I resgistered early, and fell asleep, because I was up all last night. Woke up 30 mins late, 1300 chips left, I folded for 2 rounds, then in and around the BB I got aj suited, kk, qq, all in on all of them won every one LOL on 6400 chips 374/2742now. Big Smile

------------
Bubbles burst 10360 chips 365/889

------------
Grr why am I always trying to take short stacks out in situations where its obvious I'm beat? Sad Still in it, 8500 chips, blinds 500/1000 in a min. Sad

------------
Back in the bulding. Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

Shoved on a8 off got a called on k9 off, turned an 8. It held. Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

13635 chips. 273/508.

------------
Getting down to the nitty gritty now, need another double up sooner rather than later.

------------
Finished 444th, bad play on 99. Sad Sad Sad

UL, a8 fine to shove with 8bb, worse will call.
With 13k on 1k blinds, id just put pressure on the blinds with any 2 rather than look for a x2 and try get back in.
How many started?
SS are a danger mine unless you can afford to lose some.
Nice to see you made some $
Now go enjoy a red pepper you motherfucking mobcalendar raper.

over 6000 about 6300 I think, was at about 4500 when I woke up LOL Yeah good to win some $ but I missed some decent pots, because of tightness. I seem to have no problem getting past the bubble in MTTs on PS. It just stops falling my way when there's monster stacks and small stacks and I'm trying to get chips out of them. I think eveything I do wrong is in the name of good play. I will bink one soon, I can feel this run good warming up.

That's when you need to spot weakness, ss will be looking for an AI, and BS will be isolating the SS, you can lower your range, you have to take calculated risks to make the big money, otherwise you drip a stack away.
Some BS will play tight, and if your stack is a threat, he will try avoid you with out high ranking as you are more than likely going to be committed.
It seams you are grinding out and praying on your own hand selection rather than attacking weak players.
Trust your instinct and understand you need a bit of luck, change them gears as the game progresses, don't relax.
Id rather bust in 50 and take down 1 rather than cash in 20 as the reward is much greater.
