Who do you identify with?  0
Who among the poker world do you most identify with? In other words, which group of people do you see yourself as having most in common with? Who do you think you would get on with if you met outside of poker?

If I met half the people on PS that I play, in real life, I would be jailed for murder, because 90% of the players on PS are complete and utter idiots.

Do I take it then you identify most with players who play like you, people who think the same way about poker as you? I already know you have a deep anger towards rigtards and bingo players. Also anyone who justifies playing hands in very -ev situations. Big Smile

Well - I am definitely not a nationalist, nationalism and patriotism (in most cases) are one of my biggest peeves to be honest, most pointless sense of self-identity/entitlement ever - no one ever did anything to achieve being born anywhere.

That being said - Sometimes the people I meet online are more likely to be from Australia simply because of the timezone differences, there are a lot of Aussies playing the MTT circuit on PKR.

The players I most identify with are definitely the people playing the same stakes/format as me. Particularly those who play the MTTs - with cash gamers it's a lot more trash-talking at the table, I do get to know the other people, but it's not exactly friendly. None of the trash talk really means anything, but it's not exactly the sort of stuff you build lasting relationships from either !

But certainly there's some MTT players on PKR that I've became friends with and enjoy seeing at the tables and talking too.

I must admit I am a bit biased and rarely 'friend' someone who is a losing player, although - it's generally not because they're losing, it's more that fact the the same stupidity that makes them a losing player also makes them say dumb stuff at the tables and make dumb plays that makes me angry.. I must admit, I have de-friended more than a couple people on PKR after watching them play like utter fish/donks.

------------
Oh and if one of my poker 'friends' turns out to be a rigtard; instant de-friend Evil

Seems to be a 50 /50 split for me. There are some very nice people who carry great little chat sessions, but then there are some players that are rude and crude from the time they come to the table. I can honestly say I get along with anybody who doesn't judge someone by a bad hand, make fun of someone who got donked or teases / taunts players.
It's supposed to be fun and acknowledged by players that it's called poker and the two cards your dealt are not the only cards that decide the fate or outcome of one's hand.

Haha yeah I'm pretty bad with all that too..

Ages ago I was playing a live rebuy tourney ($20 rebuys) and there was this old guy, he must have been at least 80 and he was the worst. And he cost me about 4 rebuys, every time calling with s**t like a gut shot, or J high nothing. And every time I had a hand like an over pair, or a set, something strong. And every time when he hit his ridiculous hand he had this cocky look on his face, like he was better cause he was old and had more experience or something.

Man I just wanted to punch him in the head, but of course I couldn't because he was 80.. I couldn't even say anything because it was my first night at a 'local' game and I don't think the locals would have had a bar of it if I started s**t with an 80 year old man though...I just had to walk outside and walk away, normally if I am playing a rebuy with a complete fish I'll continue to rebuy max because soon or later the idiots luck will run out. But this time I just had to leave, it was the only way I could keep from losing my s**t at an 80yr old man.

------------
Oh what is worse is that this was my new local pub (I'd just moved in across the road) and this was my first night playing the game. And I had the 'distinction' of being 'first out' - that is, the first person to lose so many rebuys that they didn't want to buyin again. So I looked like such a bloody chump - new guy, first out after losing about $100. They did a whole 'walk of shame' thing too and chalked my name up for free entry (not rebuys) the next week. man - so embarrassing and all because of some retarded 80yr old fish.

I could say the same for some of the people I play on Party Poker. Some of them are doing really stupid moves and being completely outplayed by not just me but the whole table, including the donks, and they call everyone who wins a fcuking noob or idiot or sometimes even MF... People like that, I just wanna punch their teeth in!! Or maybe do to them what this guy does to himself... Aww crap!

Anyway, back on topic... I mostly identify with players from the same country, mainly because there aren't many swedish players on PartyPoker that I've seen.

People who play the same style as me.

Although I also get competitive with players who are playing the same SNG's and tourneys i'm involved in.

But I like players who have a varied style and are capable of making some crazy plays.

Having a defined identity is having a known way of performance when sitting at the tables. I think i identify with those who play the way i do, not leting the game be too open so that the chances of geting good pots can increase. If everyone knows the way i play, it will be hard to get some pots, but if they just know me as the guy with the secret strange move, that's the best!

I think I find it easier to identify with players who have the same playing style as me although, I would say that I possible identify better with players who think the same way as me. This is a sort of cross over from players who play the same way as me I think. I also like to speak to people who understand my way of playing poker but don't necessarily agree with it.

Anyway GL to all you mobsters..............Just been knocked out of the BRM freeroll with AK against A10 - 10 on the river!!!!!! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

Damn Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile
