Just curious as to how many of you Mobsters play 7 card stud regular ot High/Low8? Been getting in a few games here and there this year and not doing to bad. I actually enjoy the change of pace and yes, it does last quite long at times.
Any advice as to playing this would be deeply appreciated. Starting hands, what to watch for, etc.
As of today I'm playing my best game of 7 card stud. Currently in 9th after 2+ hours. It was a $1.10 buyin and a total of 111 players all together. It sure is taking foever to finish top 9 though. No one has fallen out for 30 minutes.
Good Luck to all!
Wow! 3 hours+ and Ifinish 5th for a mere $7.00. Don't know about this!

G'day mate
I never really could wrap my head around seven card stud. I know some guys who make a living playing stud but they are always telling me that they ignore the man and watch the cards. It is the opposite for me in a live poker game but online I play the cards and do the math. Yes the online math is not the same animal as it is live.

i love stud8 (stud hi/lo), it's a great game, if you play it wise enough- you will find that this game is less swingy than the usual nlhe/flhe & plo...when a bad player comes to the table he 99% of the time gets owned big time- this makes the game really appealing, but when a lot of regs are sitting around game becomes to "narrow edged",basically everyone's doing the same stuff, playing very similar style etc. anyways a great game...as for stud- i cannot say a lot about it- played several times, but i feel a lot of pure gambling is involved here...gl at the tables green

If i play Stud, it is cash games. So i have no real experience in Stud tourney play. Good starting hands are trips (rare), big pairs and three to a flush or three to a straight with other options. Stud is fixed limit, so expect a lot of showdowns.

yeah shokaku said well, that stud/stud8 is a fl game, so basically bluffing element is non existant, especially in stud8...some guys try to bluff, but to be honest most of the time u get a great price to call with anything u have. i would like to see stud8 nl or pl..i think this would add some spice to the game

I like Stud poker, but i only play it at Stars in playmoney tourneys and "Cashgame" to try it. The best is, you can´t get suckouts with community cards And not the river sucks at Stars...
