I am looking for a book for my wife that goes into small limit holdem. She is really interested in becomming a better player and I was hoping you guys/gals would have some suggestions.

"Theory of poker" by David Sklansky is a very good beginner book after that some of the Harringtons books on Hold'em and in the end Supersystem by Doyle Brunson. Spice it up be reading some books about gambling theory. After this girlie will beat your ass lol so perhaps you should read'em too
this strategy guide is a lot more in depth than many online ones but at the same time are not so complex that an absolute beginner should have diffuculty in understanding the concepts.
i have recently read harrington on holdem cash games, and in their there was a great introduction about all of the basic concepts of good cash game poker, but it quickly started going into concepts which i think are unimportant for begginers such as the metagame

doomdy, just offer to play her daily with the loser having to pay for a night out or a meal etc, you will then also have more money to play with :], as for books try The Theory of Poker by David Sklansky or 1000 Best Poker Strategies and Secrets by Susie Isaacs both good but nothing beats playing the tables.
