Hey brmers,
I just saw there is a scoop tonight at 17.00 ( dutch time) with a buy-inn of just 7,5 dollar...So I think I go register to that one....50K guarenteed and till now only 1000 entants.... Thing is this is an antes up tournament and to be honest I never played such a tournament...So is there any of U who do have experience with this format and if so could what things should I do diffrently then when I play normal or turbo format.
Further anyone elsel who will be playing this scoop?

Hey Mies, good luck in this.
I haven't looked at the exact structure but have played some of these before and if my memory is right they start with antes from hand 1 and they increase instead of the blinds like usual tourneys so that ante will be greater than the blind.
All you need to remember is the antes will increase rapidly (the blinds won't change) so thepots become bigger faster pre-flop. You need to take this into account when sizing your bets.
For example: A raise of 3BB will be nothing special if blinds are 5/5 but ante is 200 as the pot will already have nearly 2000 in it

Hope this makes sense and you go deep
Thanx Big R...I will take this with me into the tournament.... antes go up every 15 minutes as its a 2 day tournament....
At this moment I am playing a sat to it....have a go for 1,65 dollar, and its also antes up so can get used to it a bit...there are 8 tickets to be won and am at 2nd position atm...so should be able to get a cheap ticket......
I'll keep U all updated
Mies
should have kept big mouth shut LOL....1st hand I got after my reply here was AA and I loose over 3/4 of my stack against 10 10...next hand get AK...loose against AA after preflop all in...hhaha hope I do better tonight...
------------ Did try another one of those sattelites, and am happy I did , as this format is no good for me , the low blinds invites donk players to go see every flop...never know when someone really has something. Herefor I decided to withdraw my entrie...I will try my luck on other normal tournaments , will be playing 60K guar. and will play another scoop in the coming days . but playing this Scoop would be a waste of 7,50 dollar...so thats no good for the bankroll and if it aint good for the bankroll it aint good for me

unlucky mies in those sats, but at least you were able to try this game out for a low stake and know it did not suit you hope you have better luck in those other tournies
I won a seat to this tournament in a sattelite. I was really lucky in the sattelite, wich also was an ante up tournament. I hadn´t played an ante up tournament before that one ether. Didn´t see it was an anre uo tournament when I registered. But I won the place into the $7.5 scoop tournament. But didn´t get in the money. Finisht early How did it go for you?
