Jonathan Hilton won the $10,000 tournament( attracted 127 players, including 20 WSOPC season champions ) held inside Harrah's newest property in New Orleans Among those vying for the first US WSOP bracelet to be awarded outside of Las Vegas was Jason Mercier, Brock Parker and former WSOP Main Event final-tablist, Jeremy Ausmus. As the action moved towards a finale it was Jeremy Ausmus who found himself heading to the rail in eighth place. Following Ausmus's exit a slew of eliminations allowed Hilton to gain the advantage before besting Max Steinberg heads-up to scoop the $355,599 top prize. A flurry of activity on the KhTc8d flop prompted an all-in from Steinberg (9d7s) and a quick call from Hilton with KsTs. As the and Ah fell on the turn and river, the final pot handed Hilton his first WSOP bracelet.
