I play satelites at full tilt as i am able to unregister from the tourny i won the seat on. Helpfull if something comes up and you just want to keep the tourny buy-in.
Also they have 9 seat satelites with only first place gets the entry. I rarely come second or 3rd, i just win or lose as i play tight aggressive in SNGs, so these are ideal for me.
Good luck in the tourny Big Smile
what would the buy in normally be?

i played a 3+0,30$ just for fun, it was a sat to a sat of the FTOPS VI (or was it VII?) and i was tied for the first place, so i did get a 50+5$ ticket. played that and finished in the last 350 or so of ca 1500 and got my 300+25$ buy-in. it was a 1.500.000$ guaranteed, and matusow, cunningham, lindgren and 37 other fulltilt-pros took part (had jordan morgan at my table). i played a tight-agressive game, and managed to reach 10.000 chips of my 3000 startstack. 850 of 5.500 players left, place 700 was paid with 440$, first 290.000$. i just wanted to finish in the money, i was smallstacked, blinds 1k/2k, i picked up KK on the button, the guy under the gun raised to 7k, all folded, i went all-in, he called, showed 77, and of course a 7 came out, and i was out. so close to the money, would have had 20k then, enough to survive i think, but, thats poker.

p.s. erick lindgren was the host of this tourney, and he won his own tourney.

next tickets that i got, e.g. pot limit omaha (256$) and a HORSE-ticket, were deregistered by me, and i took this money for smaller tournaments, in which i at least got a k in realcash back.

my best win of a sattelite was for wsop main event seat but i got immediatly kicked out ussaly i follow the steps for ept tournament it is great to do

did you mean the prize of the sattelite was a seat for a satellite to the main event?
Because a seat at the main event is worth $10,000 isnt it? Which is a major win!

No buy in was $2 + $0,20 and have a seat in $10K guarenteed as buyin of $20 +$0,20 Smile
But i'm very happy with it i'm just started with poker and take it very serious want to climb the bankroll very slow but with no big downswings.
So far its goin ok Smile
I'm not trying to get $10K in 1 month like others just steady begin at $100 then with help of 1st deposit bonusses go to higher bankroll Smile
I like the game very much so far i think i can make it on the small limits didnt have a big downswing so far (3weeks playing only)
I didnt ever tilt so far but must learn a lot Cool

I didnt win Sad Tongue

Was place 140 out of 270, i did play ok i think didnt get much cards and when i did get AA or sometin everybody folded after my bet.

With little chips left went allin with AKsuited but got busted against KQ so i did get my money in with bettter hand Tongue

I'm not dissapointed, i did play ok without any mistakes in future i maybe make it into payout when i'm little more lucky Smile

most important is that you enjoyed your time in my oppinion. Smile

for your tournament play you maybe need to find more/better spots to risk some. and of course to disguise your premium hands better. Blink

or like the famous johnny chan would probably put it: "sometimes you got to gamble"

as soon as you are smallstacked its not a tuff decision anymore to gamble against you, you know? =/ and sometimes it can be very frustrating to wait like 1 or 2 hours for a premium hand just to get not paid or, even worse, get cracked by a donkey.

so good you got that shot for cheap by winning a satellite! Sleepy

better luck next time! Smile

I understand what your saying but this play suits me the best feel comvertable with it maybe i'm playing too tight but did play a lot smaller tourneys and lots went ok.
This was tourney with 270 people and thats too much for me, like tourneys between 30and 100 people have good results.
But it was a satelite and get it cheap so it was nice experience next time i'll beat those donkeys Blink

hehe... yeah! show em what you got next time mate! Big Smile

and i agree that if you dont wanna adjust your play (because you enjoy it the way it is), its indeed a good idea to adjust the tables you play at. Sleepy
