so i guess he is "seriously injured" since he doesn't have to show up in training and travel with team to matches...if that's really the case, then i don't see anything wrong here, i think he earns ~100K a week, so that buy-in of 10K looks really funny to him...and when you play relaxed, with no stress over the money matter- you usually do a lot better huh?

In 2011 it looked like the footballer’s spectacular career was winding down. Suddenly, he was back on top. People With Money reports on Sunday (September 8) that Piqué is the highest-paid footballer in the world, pulling in an astonishing $82 million between August 2012 and August 2013, a nearly $50 million lead over his closest competition.
So, it looks like that 10 K Euro buy-in is his 1 hour income.
