As usual, it depends on everything else but the cards:

Stakes, Position, stack size, table image, history between you and BB etc. Any suited connected hand is playable in position. NLHE is all about patience, timing and mixing up your game pre flop. But of course you don't want to get into a big pot with this kind of hand unless you know the other player has holes in his post flop game. (or if you hit the nuts)

There's a reason that hitting a str8 with the lower two cards is known as "having the idiot end of a str8"!

Not necessarily, if the flop is A 4 5 you have the nuts. Of course if a 6, 7 or 8 comes on the turn or river then you dont have the nuts anymore so yeah it's definetly not a good drawing hand but it can still be the nuts. Problem is if you hit a flush you're gonna have to rely 100% on your read.

Anyways, I definetly don't recommend playing this hand too often. Just saying it's playable like any other hand in position if you keep control of the pot.
