So I turn my JJ into 22. Call pre is not an option I think Smile

Yea I actually misread the hand and thought you called a minraise.

Well Raising to something like 19k-21k is fine, fold to 3bet is fine aswell. Don't see any other way to play the hand unless you got specific reads on the 3-better.

You still got a 2 hours to go if you want to ship this thing, rooting for you.

So sick how bad that guy with TT was, in all previous hands not considering stacksizes etc lol. Makes you understand the variance of MTT's.

Jovi, another classic river from stars if you ask me but i guess you know better since there you play most of the times.

As for the JJ hand you did the right thing, definately there is no way to call that reraise just with pocket jacks. Well of course it also matter the stage of the tournament.

ouch for busto hand, he hit his two outer ....anyway openshove there is the only option

but talking about the JJ hand If I'm not wrong he 4bet you so to discuss abouti it you sould post his 4bet stats 4 bet/fold as well (assuming you have a decent hand sample on him).

Nope, there was limper, I raised, he 3bet. Anyway 4bet stats is not too reliable because you need huge sample of hands against that player since 4bets are rare.

ops you're right watched the hand again ...first time I only noticed a player in the pot before u but didn't looked at his bet size.

JJ is a very difficult hand to play, fold is ok imho

The curse of pocket jacks strikes again. This hand is definitely my least favourite to play and it always seems to get cracked. I stick to the 'no set no bet' rule post flop with this hand. There are three ways to play pocket jacks, and theyre all wrong!!

Poker Stars magic river card strikes again similar thing happened too me on stars had 44 raised and got 1 caller J 4 2 on the flop i make a pot size bet and get re raised all in so i call player turns over 77 and wouldn't you know it a 7 hits on the river Disagree Disagree but JJ i always like too see a flop with this hand its mostly a coin-flip vs AQ or AK but will more often than not get you in trouble GL

I think you played that hand perfect.
There are times that i push this hand after his reraise, also EV+ play imo, you might be 40% favourate imo, winning this hand wud make you a big stack and hopefully go deep.
But as played perfect imo.

Nice to be talking about poker strategy and actual situations.

Tough call with JJ, for me the answer would depend on what stage the tourney is at and where I am positioned. The one with 44 was disgusting, felt like throwing up.

Either way in the end if you managed to win the pot you can consider yourself lucky. I like to flat JJ in cash games as most people only all in with QQ+, and most of the time KK and AA only. They super nitty for all in.

But against shortstack I all in with 99+, AKs, as they tends to all in wider. Anyway good luck in your poker journey!

What was YOUR image at the table?

This is close and I lean towards thinking it's a 4 bet shove vs his over raise. It looks like he doesn't want action, makes me think a lower pair or AK, AQ, maybe AJs. Vs this range I don't think I'd be folding.

Played it sweet enough me thinks. They might have been trying to intimidate with something like AKs but likely they had the better hand QQ+
It was tempting to make a call and see what happened on the flop. But even if you hit trips if it came AKJ or something to that effect you nail the set...but if he had the premium hand anyway you're still screwed and liable to want to shove it, so it's a money saver in the long run and especially at that stage in the tourney. My expert opinion Smile

As for the 44...NAAAAAASTYYYYYYY - where did you finish in the end?

That is a sick river, especially as he only had at least two outs whereas you had a lot more come the river due to the flush draw. Riverstars at its finest.
