I would just like to say how sad it was to hear the news of Philip Seymour Hoffman's death. This man was one of the truly great actors of his generation and to hear of his demise has saddened me greatly.May he rest in peace and he will be missed
He was and incredibly gifted character actor, my first movie with him (that i remember) was probably a Todd Solondz one or the Big Lebowski. He had great chops and many chance to prove himself despite the fact that he didnt got the look of a catalogue model, like most of Hollywood. I dont like lamenting on junkies though, but for gods sake why he wasnt able to find some lesser hurting substances i dont know.
My fav movie with him still the Ben Stiller one...

I have to express my honest and deeply sympathies to his three children and th whoever cared about him. He was an ACTOR with the full and literal meaning of the word specially when nowdays actor equals to star, beauty and fake shine. And one last thing :if it is true the rumor about the cause of death I have to say that it is very disappointing the spread of this type of addictions worldwide ,and among our favorites stars. Cant imagine what personal demons could u drive to this path but it is matter of life and death to find way to break through. Have no personal experience and it must be very hard to be in such a spot so I am not gonna pretend to know the answer.
