I got this email from pokerstars last week Dear crash1958,
Happy birthday from everyone at PokerStars!
To help celebrate your special day, we're giving you a free gift worth up to $200 in instant cash or $215 in tournament tickets!
To receive your birthday present, just deposit $30 or more using the Bonus Code 'BIRTHDAY'. Gifts are allocated on a random basis, and include instant cash prizes from $10 to $200, tickets to The Daily Bigs and the $215 Sunday Million.
This offer will expire two weeks from receiving this email, so deposit now for your free birthday gift! So i made a deposit and received a instant $10.00 bonus, except my birthday is in January.

I also got that email recently and it's also not my birthday. They told me after i sent them an email that they were having some issues so ppl were getting that email all over. I'm sure i dont generate enough rake for their generosity lol so i figure it might be just luck I got that offer also.
Btw, I also deposited $30 and got an $11 dollar ticket.

Maybe its a new "approach" in getting people to deposit. The offer seem good if you hit one of the big "prizes". You need to hope now that you will get one also when its the real time of your birthday and be more lucky than now.

Posted by Macubaas: But again they probably offer these gifts to regular players that generate tons of rake.
No, and I said this many times before. I have 150K VPPs lifetime and have never received such an offer. Upon gotten asked by me, they didn't give real informations about how they decide who receives these offers, but it has to do with location (country) and the rest is based on random.

I too got a birthday present from pokerstars, even though it wasn't my birthday, which is very generous, the only problem being that I haven't had chance to make the most of hyper lovely gift. Take what you can from anyone and make the most of everything that comes your way.
