need advice for nl tourny  0
hi ppl i need some advise in suriving online nl holdem tournys...
everytime i go into a nl holdem tournament i always get unlucky....
so how shall i improve my game ?
basically you read in the books and read hand charts what to start with at what position etc... but most of the time im waiting for a long time to get a good starting hands it gets very frustating!!!
and when i do get a good hand i completly miss the flop!!! which is very annoying!!!
and also most of the time when someone raises preflop i usally fold something like j7 off suit then when the flop come i would off had an full house!!!! and mostly its very frustating when you keep folding the winning hands preflop all because some idiot keeps rasing!!!
so that makes me go on a tilt and i end up losing my chips and out of the tourny!!!!

so is online poker good for bad poker players who play rubbish hands and hit the flop????

or is there a strategy to actually play solid poker and win near the money or the tounry?

please someone give me some advise or tell me how you experiance your tournaments?
im looking for any advise thanks

I had same problem like you.. Always getting bad beatet.. I then got my self harrington on holdem vol 1 and it really turnt my game upsite down.. Im now starting to win tours and stuff..

I try not to play any hands with out raising.. So if i wanna play a hand it needs to be good enough to raise with. Also playing very tight the first 2 hours also helps alot.. after that you can start loseing abit up..

hi yes i do play tight early but then that eats away my chips and leaves me no choise but to go all in and then im out cause i get rivered or some idiot chases a flush no matter how much im raising he calls and then gets his flush,
i hate that.
im gonna try get that harrington on holdem vol 1 and see if it helps me thanks

Maybe it works for you to play more loose as you say you hit rag hands and miss good hands.Try to be a maniac or a loose gambler but do it the right way and know when to fold, this strategy worked for me fine.I went from tight aggressive to loose aggressive and maybe even a maniac, but my results were way better as this style fits me better.

remember super tight is always right.. and when you play a hand make sure you play it very very aggressively.. 2nd try to read super system I $ II.. i guarantee you.. more often than not you'll win..

hope this makes sense .. GL on the tables mate Thumbs Up

The game is full of donks or fish that u called them. Even on protables they are u must handle us if u gonna win. Play only AA KK QQ in the begining and dont chicken out then they raise on river 90 procent bluff

Play only wuality hand when the position allows you to enter the pot. Remember to raise every time you wanna play. Forget about calls and follow the ICM as a bible

the number one thing to remember is not to bluff in the first levels of the tournament. just play the good hands very aggressive and try to see flops cheaply with 56s 22 33 44 and so...

Remember that there is no "winning strategy" in poker.
The way You play must match the other people at Your table.
More aggressive at loose tables and the other way around.
If You stick to the super tight strategy then You will end up
folding many winning hands and will find that once You get
into a pot everyone else just folds and YOu don`t get paid for YOur big hands.

You can not be successful in Tourneys when You play too tight.
The raising blinds force You to steal blinds and pots from time to time.
Otherwise You will not be able to make enough chips to survive unless
YOu get a lot more lucky then Your opponents. But You will not want to rely on luck as a good player.

Vary Your style. From time to time You should make a preflop raise with s**t like 67, just to make it impossible for Your opponents to consider which cards You have and which style You play.

A good thing to do in tourneys is to play EXTREMLY aggressive right before the bubble ( that's when only 3 - 10 people need to be eliminated to reach In The Money ). Many players will not take a risk in that situation. They somehow try to "wait" themselves in the money. By stealing pots at this stage You can gain a huge advantage without taking much of a risk.

Read Harrington on Holdem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thou shall not play tourneys without having read this book !!!!!!!!!!

I would advice you playing by respecting these points if possible:

@ Play tight early in these games
@ Make standard raises to avoid people calling with ...
@Don't forget to make continuous bet if you're in position after they checked to you.
