Having recently started a summer job, I have found myself with a little bit of disposable income. I have veered away from the tables lately, based on lack of time and motivation to play, but am rearing to go now that I can deposit a somewhat decent sum (no, not my whole weeks pay. Was thinking something around 10% of my spending money). However, I don't really want to deposit any cash until I take my game to the 'next level'. As I am still playing micro stakes, I doubt that getting professional coaching would be that useful, but I really want to learn more about the game. I am obviously not ready to take my game above micro stakes, so I ask you, people who have gotten coaching, will it be USEFUL at a micro stakes level? Should I just read online articles about 'crushing' micro's?

Totally depends on what you intend to play, but usually all articles will tell you "play straightforward ABC poker" etc., which will make you, if any nowdays, only a very small winrate.

That's pretty much the focus of those articles, play ABC with a tight range and look for fat value. If it keeps getting reiterated then it must be a viable strategy. Looking to mainly play cash, see how that goes before moving to any SnG or MTT coaching.
I figure coaching can helpe make some extra cash, so it seems pretty justified that I commit money now to gain future profitability. Seems pretty +EV, but obviously depending on my willingness to learn.

Are you sure? Go to speedtest.net, if you have over 1 in download speed that will be def. enough (I dont have more too and it works fine). I think for micros SNGs are def. the best moneymaker for least required knowledge. Happy to give SNG live coaching for ~$12/hour

@vsemoje, how much do you get out of it? As in what did you specifically get out of it?
like i said at least 10% ROI more so do ur math and takes ur game to new dimentions, you will start to understand what is poker about. i think hand history review is best for start.

8GB a month I mean. Considering getting more net (my own, dad thought $65 a month for 8GB despite my pleas that you can get unlimited for $40 from up and coming companies using the same network). Not sure about skypes data usage.
$12 seems mad decent. I'll Definately suss out where I can talk and have unlimited net (eg. Not a library)

Coaching will definetly take you to the next levetl, depending on what your level is now. What are you micro stats? Are you doing well? Or just surviving in micro's? Coaching can cost lot's of money but they worth every peny. They do.

don't mind if i barge into this thread, but i can actually offer coaching to you at $7.99/h we can chit chat bout boobs and vodka and some poker in between. don't believe the rumors floating around that i am a shitty player- i'm really a beast, i rule the tables and pokerstars are seriously thinking of banning me, since i am ripping them apart... next week i will be joining Dan Bilzerian and we will try to kick some oil tycoons asses in Kyrgyzstan... still for $7.99/h i will manage to squeeze you in into my tight schedule

If you just want to stay in micro ring games, i dont think you need coaching for this, Just read a few basic things and you are good to go. Table selections and notes will help you a lot in this. If you want to play sng's then its different and coaching will be useful.
