Using a HUD is invaluable if you want to play anything else than "standard ABC" strategy (even then it can be useful) If you want to use it (if you use HEM2 that is), I already posted in another thread today, you can have my license for a much cheaper price than what you pay if you buy it, I'm using HEM1 (if HEM2 runs relativly smoothly on your computer definitely use that though).

I'm using it for about 3 years, if you have any questions about how to set it up etc., what the stats mean and such topics feel free to ask Have a nice weekend
It's hard to objectively say how much a HUD is worth. It should increase your winnings more than what you pay for it, to be worth it. I've been using it from when I first started to play, figuring I would eventually need it anyway, so might as well get used to it...
Even when you just look at a few stats like VP$IP and PFR, you can tell a lot (e.g. when an opponent with PFR of 4% raises, you know he's probably got something good. Or when both players on your left fold 80% of their blinds to an open raise, you know you can steal with any 2 cards profitably. Or when a player on your right steals > 40%, you can 3-bet him light etc...).
It gives you an edge, and that adds up over time...
One warning though; the HUD can be a little overwhelming, so expect to do worse before it gets better...
