Gonna stay away from Ring, Zoom and 1-Table SNGs entirely.... will be playing $0.25 & $0.50 45 mans, mixing in a few $1.50 turbos and playing some low buy in Scheduled MTTs... Once bankroll is around $250 I'll start focusing on the $2.50 180-Mans... That's the plan.

------------
Done for the night, would have been a decent day, but for a doomed 2-7 SD re-entry tourney that suckered me in for $20... wasn't going to re-enter, but play was so bad I felt I had to. Ended up getting luckboxed out just before the cash.

Also very frustrated about a FPP Sat I played to the 2- SD TCOOP.... 1st got entry, 2nd got ~1700FPP... Spent ~40FPP, played perfection throughout and got donked out in 3rd place..

A few MTTs played, without cashing wiped out my winnings from coming 2nd in a $0.25 and a $0.50 45-Man... both of them ludicrous HU matches that have cost me a couple of bucks...

Anyway, Onwards and upwards Smile

Closing Bankroll 05/01/2015 $90.80

Pretty big chance you'll go broke with 100BI at the $2.50 180s unless you hit an upswing at the start.. you could try 27 mans (non turbos with relativly deep play at FT IMO), and the 12 and 18 man 6 max SNGs, they all have very high ROIs possible in comparison to time spent (50%+ ROI is possible, especially at the 27 mans).
If you want to play turbos 18 mans and 45 mans are surely also good alternatives (though at least for 45 mans you'll need more than 100BIs as well to minimize the risk of going busto).
I mean you can try the 180s for sure, but if you don't want to redeposit I'd say better go with conservative BRM

Would you say 150 BIs is more like it... Or more than that even?

Made a decision tonight (since I stopped playing) that I really have to start being stricter with myself and my BR habits, or I'll never do it properly...

So no more MTTs over $1.50 until the roll can comfortably handle them...

I feel I want to move up in entrants, working my way towards the scheduled MTTs full time, so don't want to slide from 45-Mans down, if you get what I mean.

So basically, I'll be playing almost exclusively 45-Mans for now - Mostly $0.25 non turbos, but starting to mix in $0.50 turbos... Then start to mix in 90-Mans when the bankroll is higher, working up towards $2.50 180-Mans, while taking shots at low buy in MTTs., with the aim of eventually playing only scheduled MTTs, with higher buy-ins...

For 180s I'd never go below 200 BIs, I dont have a big sample myself but there are graphs of top players at that format with 250+ BI downers, in 2.50s your edge should be big enough to go with less, but overall you should be prepared for big downers and breakeven stretches lasting several thousands of games..
What I'd recommend with the things you said:
Under $150 - $0.50 45s/90s/180s mixed (eventually $1.50 12/18/27 mans non turbos if that interests you)
$150-$200 - $1 90s and $1.50 45s mixed
$200-$300 - $1.50 45s with some $3.50 12/18 man 6 max non turbo SNGs mixed in
$300-$400 - $1.50 45s, $3.50 45s and $2.50 180s mixed (keep ABI on lower end), non turbo MTSNGs still great to mix in.
$400-$500 - same as 300-400 but more shots at $2.50s and $3.50s
$500+ - move to $2.50 180s completely

I also see nothing wrong with MTTs mixed in, as long as it's a reasonable % of your BR (1% max, but always look for ways to equalize the MTT variance by putting in enough SNG volume)

Good stuff mate, very useful...

After reading a few things, watching a few videos, and doing my own bit of planning.... I'm thinking I might try and specialise in the 180-Mans, playing the $0.50 ones until reaching around $500 when I'll move up to the $2.50s, and (hopefully) moving up to $8.00s when roll gets to $1,600.

At the higher levels, SN chase is a definite possibility.

Starting off at the $0.50 would put me a long way behind in the chase, obviously... But I feel I'd be able to move up fairly quickly to the $2.50s... If I was playing the $2.50 all year, I'd need to average 250 games per day to make SN... But only ~83 games at the $8.00s

I think if I can do 200-250 games per day, and successfully moving up to the $8.00s by around August time, I'd comfortably be able to catch up and make it.

So maybe SN chase is back on.... Smile

Not sure what the volume is like at the $0.50 180s nowdays, I had the imagination there's very low amount of games running, but if the volume running is enough then that's a good choice Smile
Don't worry about staying on SN pace atm, much more important to build up your roll to games where decent money can be made, building your roll the VPPs will come by themselves Smile
I'm gonna fall behind pace as well at the beginning (already about 500 points behind atm), but moving up throughout later this year will compensate for that, once I get to $15 turbos 1K VPP days are reasonably possible.
Chasing SN playing 180s and MTTs only will be very tough though, definitely have to mix limits for the SNGs, also gotta mix in the $3.50 rebuys IMO for table-profit reasons (very nice ROIs possible, but low amount of VPPs), I honestly think to make it you'd have to grind $8/$15 180s and $15 45 mans in addition to make it within a reasonable schedule.

Hmmmm... seems so slow to fill at the $0.50 games... Could be a problem...

------------
Ok, another change of plan then...

$0.50 games are a no go... Seem to take around 15 minutes to fill, even at busy times, so that's what? 60 running per day maybe? Tops.

So what I'll do is start on the $2.50s right from the start with my $100 roll, but being willing and able to redeposit back to $500 if I do go broke. Ideally, there'll be no initial downswing, so the deposit won't be necessary. But I'm fully aware it's very possible.

So new plan - around 200 $2.50s per day until I get to around $1,250, then start mixing in $8.00s, then exclusively $8.00s after $1,600, then start throwing the $15.00s in should I get over $3,000.

...Finishing the year with SuperNova status, and a $20,000 bankroll. Sounds perfect Big Smile

------------
Going to try a few out now, see how they feel.

------------
Just finished playing in 9 of them... was supposed to be 8, but I miscounted. Great start eh? Smile

8 of them were total non-events, only even threatening the cash positions in 1 out of those 8... But soon I was left in just 1, with around 37 people left, I was in 12th (with 27 being paid).

Made it into the money quite comfortably, and was feeling good... Checked BRM to see what was going on, and noticed Jeffa was running deep in a tourney again, so thought, oh great, he's gonna steal all the luck again Smile

....But this time, it seems, the luck was not being shared as both Jeffa and I went on to take down 1st place.

Mine may only have been $123.31, compared to Jaffa's..... shitloads, but because of my umming and arring trying to figure out what I'll play and BR management and so on... I can tell you I'm just as happy about this win as he will be with his.

Don't know whether to call it a night, or carry on while the going's good.

I'll attach my tourney (SNG & MTT together) graph now anyway, then make a decision later.

Something that has just crossed my mind... Is that this could be a very good year for BRM members... With Jovica, BeMy & maybe myself going for SN, & Jeffa winning every cent there is to win on FullTilt Thumbs Up

Yeah, can't complain Smile

Unlocked a new achievement on Sharkscope too, which was a nice surprise... also noticed they've updated it so the locked achievements actually tell you what you need to do, so think I'm gonna go and knock of another two before I go to bed...

Win 10 non-HU FL SNGs &
Win 10 non-HU PL SNGs

Should be pretty quick.

You wanna win 10 non FLH SNGs quick? You'll have trouble getting 10 opened I think Big Smile

Haha... I'm just finding that out!

It's almost certainly not 10 I need to win, because pretty sure I played a few before, so guess would've won some... Think I'll just do PL for now.

Not had the chance to play for the last couple of days, but think I'll put a nice volume session in when I get home tonight.

My 2015 started OK so far. I have managed to fulfill all daily January challenges on Pokrstrs (which is not difficult) and yesterday I got the reward. My first money in one of the all in shootouts. It is just one Dollar but it is for free.

2015 started pretty good for me.

I won some money in the casino.

But i had no time to play a little poker until now.

Maybe i will start the next days.

I wish everybody a good new year 2015 and good luck with everything.

So usually when a thread like this is started, only for the OP to disappear without trace only days later... It's a pretty safe assumption they went busto.... Well, for me.. it was my laptop that went busto - Leaving me basically unable to play poker for around 6 weeks now. I say "basically" as I was able to log in on a friends phone from time to time...

So here I am, nearly 1/6 of the way through the year - With none of my targets achieved...... but itching to get going again.

I have a new laptop... and a whole lot of renewed determination.

The Stars bankroll is gone... cashed out to put towards my new laptop, so have decided to have a serious effort on Party again. I'm just 1 objective away from finishing the final mission... Just need to win with pocket 8s at a showdown in a SNG for $5 and a $25 bonus... so that's what I'll be working towards.

Going back to the start isn't always a bad thing....

Got up to $5 from nothing in a few hours, now way out in front in a 20pp, $250 tourney with 6 left and over $50 for first...

Ahhhh... It's good to be back Big Smile
