I read what was written there and they take the previous years month where u earned most of VPPs, and that is the VPPs u need to reach in a month to cash out. Will deposit in a week and see how it goes, mine will be around 100-150vpps but will deposit using a b0nus code or insta b0nus and later use the ULTIMATE star code as another b0nus i guess. If i will be lucky at earning vpps like in my best month last year then hell yeah, otherwise who cares its free, wont deposit any extra because of this.
This is practicaly useless for non-regulars since after the opt-in they will have to rake (or in case of bad/unfortunate players loose) plenty more in cash to get their bonus release so Amaya is spot on being the indian giver of the year again. I didn't even try to understand this time why any non-regular would want to have a go at this, since you will pay 4 your bonus twice (last years one month worth of vpp - which your bonus based on, and this years which get this bonus released). Useless. Lower tier VIP levels will bleeding money on this.
Well, doing the math, makes me think this is actually a great promotion:
I've hardly played on PS last year, so I get the $10 bonus, that requires 100 VPP to clear. 5.5 VPPs are awarded for every $1 in rake that is generated.
So to get the $10 bonus I just have to generate $18.18 in rake.
That is a rakeback percentage of 55%. That is a very good deal...
I don't think you can get better rakeback anywhere else (not to mention that PS has the lowest rake already; 3.5% on NL2 and 4.15% on NL5).

Again - your rake last year on your best month plus your rake this year for clearing those points to get this released equals that YOU PAYED 4 TIMES FOR THAT 10 BUCKS TO AMAYA.

No sarcasm. Perhaps I do not understand correctly. What has rake you paid last year to do with it, other than how large the bonus is? You've already paid that rake last year.
This is simply a bonus, that gives you $10 back from the next $18.18 of rake you generate.
Just like any bonus, you should not do it, if you can't make the required points, or expect to lose money in the process. But if you're going to play anyway, it might as well be with the best rakeback. While clearing this bonus, you'll only pay between 1.6% and 2% rake.
If I compare it with Party, where I'm clearing the Halloween bonuses, that are just 26% rakeback, while the games themselves are raked at 5%, which in effect means I'm paying 3.7% rake.
Seems that for the duration of this bonus, it makes sense to switch to pokerstars...

No, it's simply that few people here understand rakeback correctly. Especially here, people earn like 40-50% extra rakeback through the bonus. That's an amazing rakeback %. I'll have to make about 5K VPPs to earn about $100 (the % gets worse the higher the amount). But still, that's about 11% extra rakeback that was totally unexpected. Amaya doesn't have to give anything and they would still be far ahead of all other sites. Also, please note that Stars is still most generous over all other big sites (party, Fulltilt, 888...) in terms of rakeback, in addition to lowest rake I believe. Why does no one complain there? All complains are pure nonsense, seriously

I think bowzer just has a problem with pokerstars in general. Every recent thread made about pokerstars whether its bonuses, allin shootouts, or someone winning a million $ hes got something negative and pointless to say. Dont like it dont play imo

I understand bowie and bemyatm... and they are both right in their own way... What is happening here is that pokerstars is forcing players to play more poker to take more rake by giving them some rake back... which is for someone good and from someone bad... As bemyatm says that this is exellent offer, which is, but you all must know that this is how pokerstars will make more money because all players would play 24/7 to reach their VPP points and that will give more money to pokerstars

This is good for all. The bonus is there for the taking. If u want to play for it the options there. If not thats fine to. No one is forced to play poker and no one is forced to take the offer. I need 1140 points in 30days. Yes its doable, am i gonna go out of my way to clear it? Nope. But if i do i get a sweet 50 that i didnt have before. Pokersites arnt just gonna hand over money so instead they give u incentive to play. If ur gonna play anyways then its always a plus.

Just cleared this $10 bonus on NL5 with a additional $20 profit from 3866 hands, giving me a 11.5 bb/100 winrate (while running about $10 below all-in EV). Not as good as I was doing on Party, but still pretty decent.
Apart from the bonus, I also did every daily challenge in January, generating another $12 from the all in shootouts.
All together made $42 from this promo, with very little effort or time (spent most of the month on Party).
I did notice the cash games play differently on stars (very little limping, and much more 3-betting, compared to party). It took a little time to adjust...

Hey mate, did you really think that bonus is free money? No bonus is ever free money. You always have to play for it. And one thing is for certain you will spend more money clearing the bonus than the bonus itself.
