I agree with bowie, the price of this currency fluctuates massively and after all the fraud involved with it it would be one hell of a risk to buy any thing other than tiny amounts of bitcoin. At one point the price was $1200....now around $250.One day you could $1000 in your poker account and the next day it is down to $300 without even having the pleasure of losing it in the casino.
You could argue the same about the dollar. The value there is also mostly about perception. If you look at the US state deficit and national debt, there is no real value behind it, is there? There may come a day when the dollar (or any other currency for that matter), loses most it's value over night...

spot on marqis always has something valuable to say.
in reality every currency is only alive as long as we believe it's worth something. however the real value of it is only paper and ink required to print it. no more no less. when we talk emoney- there's no value at all- just a bunch of numbers moved over from one account to other... keep believing and we'll be ok.

I would never put my money into that. I am already gambling too much if you ask me, at some point, and i dont want to start gamble with gambling If you wanna bet in currency, try forex. The risk factor there is big, but you are not in danger of losing your money if you still havent invested it. Something that doesnt happen with bitcoins.

well yeah i understand what bowie is trying to say- established currencies don't have big fluctuations like bitcoin (except russian ruble ) so you can have one worry less, sure it's no fun when you get back from holidays to see your poker account shrunk twice even though you haven't played a hand... wtf? let people lose their money themselves...jeez the dudes behind bitcoin are evil
