PokerTube have learned that Amaya will merge the player liquidity of Full Tilt Poker (FTP) with Pokerstars some time within the next 6 weeks. They may even scrap the Full Tilt brand altogether, according to sources close to FTP.
Update - Sources from within Full Tilt Poker have since confirmed the authenticity of the story. They asked not to be named.
Player traffic has been flagging at Full Tilt Poker for some time now, with the once great home of high-stakes online poker now sitting in 11th place on the poker room traffic rankings, according to Pokerscout. Clearly, Amaya Inc. and its CEO David Baazov have decided that enough is enough.

Comes as a big surprise to me. I always thougt that FT was used as a testing ground by Amaya, where new types of games or tourneys were introduced first, and when the reactions of the players were positive, something similar was implemented at Stars.

Yes true i just read that the merge will be done in next April and all players that have account in both the Full Tilt one will be merge with the one of Stars.
Since the decline of Tilt customer it will be a cost saving for Amaya having only one operations peoples instead of two.
I think that it is a good business decision and IMO Party Poker should do the same with B win.

I guess the worlds biggest site, will slowly become one of the small players,in the online poker world,I could only see this hurting them more, just cause, that more players decided that they have had enough of Amaya, and what they have done to Pokerstars,I thought some day it would happen, or that Amaya would just sell full tilt.....Amaya is probabaly the worst thing that could of happened to pokerstars and full tilt. Since they bought both sites, there sights have been set on the and thats it they don't care, about the players, they care about the money, this to me is wrong, players should come first, then there money will follow, you treat your customers right they will always come back with their money in hand,I guess they are starting too see that effect of the changes they made,to everything and its not working,I know they know that there losing players fast,so they got to do some thing. Sell full tilt by its self, and it would become number 1 or 2 again
Amaya is bad for online poker, they need to stick to casinos.
Not sure if that's a good move. Some players don't like stars. But I guess that the costs of operating FTP just isn't worth it. And their promotions were pretty bad anyways, didn't like their freeroll formats. I wonder if buying it in the first place was even worth it... Most people were already playing at stars because of black friday.
Weird moves. Maybe they overestimated the growth of online poker... I feel like it has peaked a while ago.

Not a surprise to me. Acquired the site, eliminated their biggest rival from the market and now they merge. I bet that this has been planned even before the buy out Its a move done often in the business world.

It is great news The best thing that can happen to poker players is that PokerStars merge with FullTilt They are the same company and FullTilt traffic does not justify keeping it remain open At its peak was the second FullTilt poker room in the world after much happened to be the third time in the last year fell to the eleventh place, and that's a shame for Amaya group itself

Lmaof! great news its, not great news. Its sad news just goes too show how bad,Amaya managed both sites....there are smaller sites then fulltilt and they are doing good, this just plain greed and bad management, If it's not broke why fix it? trying to fix some thing that's not broken, can just make things worse, that's what they did.

Yup! I just got the email too. It will be interesting to see how this works in reality. It's interesting how it also gives you access to poker on the other sites such as net stars and casino stars.... I wonder what the deal and other promos will look like and how the tourneys will fair.

as long as i am getting something for free (bonuses, tickets, cannabis, hookers, vodka) then i don't give a sh1t what they are merging and with whom. and same goes to who the owners are of one site or another- just keep giving the free cash away and everything is cool.

When was the last time stars gave something free away lol? Only thing you get for free from them is the software itself and im sure if u look hard enough theres an added rake to cover that fee as well

Second half of last year i had some "free" casino money at Stars, with some wagering requirement attached to it. Was lucky enough to rescue some of it after the wagering. So it is not completely hopeless.

From what i have read above i know at least one person that will be happy. demo I see that the deal will keep running, so demo will keep hitting. But i understand the frustration some players may have, with this move.

Amaya destroys everything it touches Becomes the best poker site in a vulgar betting site, which attracted players who do not know how to play poker and bet like roulette or slots A room or two rooms are the same s**t, nothing will change for sure improve

Supposedly a player who has a PokerStars account banned can not play on FullTilt, just as if this should not be banned from FullTilt to play at PokerStars I read in an article while on a press Amaya, precisely because of a problem that arose for canceling an account from a player Fulltilt immediately proceeded to close the account on Pokerstars and according to them was the policy they would have to then on for all players When he closed the account in a room, it is also immediately closed in the other
