Tom Dwan, best known as "durrrr" at Full Tilt's high-stakes tables before Black Friday, made a rare appearance in a live poker tournament last weekend when he entered the HK$500,000 (approx. US $64,000) Super High Roller of the 2017 Macau Billionaire Poker (MBP) Spring Challenge.
The tournament saw a field of 12 players, including Dwan, German high-stakes expert Philipp Gruissem and Belarusian po[...] Read more » Tom Dwan's First Live Tourney Cash Since 2014

That's not so easy to play his a-game after a while without cashes at the live tables. He have a aggressive playing style and so it can happen verry fast to go on tilt. Gratz for his discipline this time and his first live cash after a long time !

So, congratulations for Mr Dwan on reassuring us all that he is still around and playing some poker. He's clearly not at broke with the buy in involved unless that was borrowed money and gets him into potentially a position where he can start clearing whatever he needs to clear... probably mainly his name and rebuild his career.

well this kinda typifies dwan, final hand all-in with K3 off suit... fcuk yeah, brings back the days when blom was introducing the new starting hands charts to the mass public. this is actually good news for dwan, at least he can start repaying that debt that we were informed in the previous post.

About time to win something. But how much of his debt this takes out? It is though a bankroll that can help any bounce back. All he needs is a few good games to make it up to a million. Unless he continues his tradition
Badziakouski played a good tournament and in the final hand beat the famous player ..... this is certainly a good achievement and I'm glad that he achieved it .... as for Tom Dvan then of course it's good that he is back in the game and maybe solved his problems

Huge congratulations go out to Tom Dwan for his runner-up finish in the Macau Billionaire tournament. US$275,000 is probably not a life-changing amount of money for him, but should be enough to spend the entire night at an exclusive club with his friends.

I would really like to know the truth about how much Tom Dwan owes or doesnt, but i doubt we will ever find out the real story. Lots of rumours surround this guy and it will be fascinating to find out what is going on
Macau is really not the best place to hide IMO, any 'former friend' of his could just give 10k to the local triads and next day boom, no more debt problem or simply no more problem at all...

This is big money that all of yse would be very happy to win some day, for such a famous players like tom dwan I think this is not super money, but if he played this tournament he did decide that he wants to take this money so maybe it is big even to him?

G'day mate
If what you say is true then he is not listening to his fathers advice. Spoke clear say's " Live long & Prosper ".
If he owe anywhere near what some people thinks he does then he is clearly not prospering. Hmm well if he is really just a donk then he was one very lucky donk who was on one hell of a heater in the past.

Dunno, but I think more pro poker players live their lives with borrowed money than we know about. Yeah, some of them a dgen gamblers but some of them just seeing as a credit opportunity with less juice than taking money from the banks...

well dwan was realy good, maybe the best in his time...but poker is game where you must improve all the time... if you dont improve, there will be better players than you... and I think dwan just didnt evolved his game to be better, and end up in huge downswing...

The super aggressive player is (used to be) one of the most profitable types of players. But it is very important even for winning players to diligently analyze the game so that they are prepared to make adjustments to their playing style.

LOL, thanks for downvoting the post #18. I know who did it. I can keep track of all the up/downvotes. So, if you got a problem with me, say it to my face. Don't even try to hide. Should I try to write a blunt, simple, and raw comment like this so that there would be less ambiguity, LMFAO?

good for you. now if you can please stop saying congrats to whoever wins a poker tournament like they will see your post and be grateful for you hollow support. a problem which i have said to you before, unfortunately i never plan to travel to japan for numerous reasons, so cannot say it directly to your face
you want the reason why i downvoted this one? you are 'assuming' without saying that you are, that dwan is a losing player or that he still plays the way he did on tv. even if he did still play that way, the fact he just came second in a high roller shows that his style works
