Posted by taavi19: So it means these sites are infected?
NO, not at all !!
Unfortunately, everything on the Internet that has to do with money will always be affected by viruses. The solution is to keep anti virus software updated.
The trojan mentioned in this thread is specifically developed to con users when accessing banking and gaming websites, including those listed above. Besides phishing attacks, the trojan also has a key logger which saves the users username and password for those websites. Trojans like this attempt to steal information such as bank logins etc. from the infected computer.
So basically, THINK before you download/launch files and have your anti virus updated at all times.

i have no visus software just a FW, and i always clean my cache before shutdown pc (all passwords, visited sites etc). so the firewall should do it...you see the processes. if your onlinebankings get hacked then you still have 2 weeks (depends on the bank, by some up to 8 weeks i think) to back transfer money. but what if your pokerclient gets hacked, and its YOUR fault because you had this or any other trojan on your pc and didnt notice....then your money gone ?
before i didnt care that much about trojans, because i dont have important things on this pc. so anyone was welcome but since i do money transfers by pc i worry much more.

You should definatly have at least one anti virus software running on your computer. The firewall can't handle all those problems. And keep the virus scanner up to date.

depending on for what use you use your pc. if your visiting alot ominous sites and or download 24/7 XXX movies then its mandatory. but im not the white house so most of the time its just kids who try their hacking skill. if you watch out then you dont need AV (using too much resources). but this will lead into a AV/FW yes or no discussion. so i stop here

Only ONE antivirus software, never more than one... having multiple can conflict and be as worse as having none

With no anti virus installed you don't know if you are infected fire walls don't block viruses, I also use Spybot search & destroy it prevents your pc from getting infected by spyware and you can scan and remove spyware with it

dunotra, you should be fine with Avast or AVG, I believe those are the 2 free anti virus scanners that usually wins the "best"-awards. We've been using avast for several years now, it's simple, easy and free - and doesn't take up as much computer ressources as norton/symantec does.

and thats why YOU need a AV , Gene. i wonder if your kaspersky is clean ? most kaspersky they offer on torrent are infected, so your pc is more a open house day as a firewall. the best to delete spyware is doing it manualy. you cant delete all spyware by only one antispyware software. you need like 3-4 different antispyware software to detect them all - thats the experience i made anyways.

Yep thats what im using at the moment, and a good firewall aswell. AVG and avast run together quite nicely, normally not recomended but no problems with these 2, that way you also get the full protection.
