LAG players..  0
Im trying to mix my cash games up a little more, but am having problems with playing LAG, loose fine but im having trouble adding the aggresion.
So LAG players do you tend to choose a type of player to play or just compleatly at random all pre-thought out, raise re-raise etc.
Im happy to bust chops with 72o but when a flop comes i bottle.
any advice on LAG play welcome, the more the better........(cash play, not tourn or sng)

Cbet on most flops. Usually you don't have much of a hand so avoid going to showdown. Naturely the type of player is important. If a guy never folds no matter what if he connects with the board, then there is little point in trying to bet him off his hand.

Always come in raising pre flop and only play really loose in position ( cut off and button )

Avoid Ace-rag hands.

C-bet plenty as shokaku suggests - bet good flops ( ie when it was unlikely to have hit your opp ) bet when you hit top pair or better and bet when you have nothing. Check all the medium hands and scary flops.

play 6 max

learn to fold descent hands

play your opponents - if your opps are loose, unobservant and weak, then a play TAG style. The best part about a LAG style is that your opps pay you off when you hit big. Why bother if they pay you anyway.

beware of traps - everyone will waiting for a big hand to trap you with.

Good advice dellboy.
Spent most of my sessions yesterday playing LAG.
Got called a donk when my 48 got called by A high, lol.(both missed)
But all in all it was suprising to see that lots of ppl are so willing to fold to a c-bet, took lots of blinds :}, and think annoyed a few ppl.
Dont know if its wrong, but i decided to go OTT with good hands, worked yesterday.
Best hand (lucky!), 79o(late), against AK (early)(knew he had good hand), flop comes A 7 9, got him all in and then K 7 followed :}

sounds like you're having fun with it - LAG is always a lot of fun.

someone always gets annoyed too - which is another bonus of a LAG - and tilted players are true ATM's.

another tip is not to call raises from a TAG player light especially out of the blinds. To play a winning LAG style you need the ability to c-bet and take pots on the flop, as well having position in the hand.

Yer its been fun, can see a diffrence in the profit margin.
But its quite intensive, iv had to shorten my sessions as I start to lose consentration quicker than normal, making stupid mistakes that i needent make.
Might sound strange but its like finding poker all over again, iv still lots to learn reguarding LAG play, thanks for the advice but im back to TAG/passive, but ill be sure to up my all round game.LAG is the way forward for me, just need more play time.
I wanted to track my stats but just found out iv lost pokertracker :{, what sort of stats do you think I should be looking at for LAG play?

At a 6-max table. I reckon on VP$IP of 30-40% with a PFR of 25-40% with the gap between them of less than 5%.

Aggression factor must be at least 1.6 probably not more than 3

Remember these would be long term stats and many sessions could be outside these stats.

A LAG style is quiet demanding and tough decisions come thick and fast.

If you multi table reduce the number of tables you play.

Try a cross over style - the style I play most often:
play LAG from the cut off and button ( if the pot's unopened or people have just limped ) where you can use your position to pick up small unclaimed pots or the blinds. It will certainly keep you active enough to get your big hands payed off.
Then play TAG from all other positions.

Always raise when the pot is unopened or people have limped - I always raise the size of the pot so I raise bigger when there is limpers - make them pay more if they want to play and you already know they haven't got a good hand.

Don't play A-rag hands ( worth a second mention )

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress Smile

After you've played rather loose change the tactics to TAG for some time so that players would think that you are still playing loose and then you have the chance to beat them. But if the opps are loose too then TAG will be better all the time.
