About Short Stack Strategy  0
I would like some opinions about short stack strategy, cause it's the strategy i'm using now to play poker. I mean, it seems a good strategy, but sometimes you wait too long for a good hand to show up, other times it shows up and you're in the wrong place or you go all-in and you lose more than what you won the past few games. I am always winning and loosing so i'm almost always with the same ammount of cash...I could risk more hands to try to win more money, but that is too risky...Any suggestions? Thank you Cool

Choose a table with at least 7-8 players best 10. (go for 2 tables as you are going to fold a lot)
1 Avoid tables with a lot of raising/re-raising going on. 2 Buy-in for 20x BB [so for NL10 ($0.05/$0.10) it’s $2.
3 Wait for the big blind to come around to you or immediately start. playing if you are on one of the 2 late positions.
4 Play only good hands relative to your position – AKx, (AQs maybe) and monsters (AA/KK/QQ) in early position, add JJ,TT,99,KQs to the list for middle position, add 88,77, A+face card, A+rag suited, suited connectors for your late position playables. Create your own list and stick to it.
5 Raise accordingly, you will never enter a pot without your guns blazing unless you are in the small blind and the pot odds for calling are really good or you get to see a free flop from the big blind. Proper raising means 4x BB raises + 1x BB for each limper if you are opening the pot. If there was a raise/re-raise, either re-raise 3-4x the last raise/re-raise + 1x the last raise/re-raise per caller or go directly all-in.
6 Know when you are beat, do not be afraid to lay down AK if you miss with it and there are more than 2 people playing for the pot. Make continuation bets against tight opponents. Conti-bets should be around 50-66% of the current pot.
7 Always keep your stack at 20x BB if it falls bellow this level, Stand up and play somewhere else when you have 35x BB or more leave

Short stacking is a bit like playing tourney stile in a cashgame. You are not deep, so there are no implied odds for SC and small PP. It is big pair poker.

well in my opinion sss is not poker maibe can work in low limits (10,25,50,100) but if u will play real poker and win real money you need know another things like just play whit a specially hand and now is not like a tourney or sit&go in a turney or a sit&go u put on practice your poker skills if u just wait some hands to play then you dont practice anything and you will olst when the blinds come more higger and higger Big Smile conclusion play sss when you dont have a confrotable bankroll or when you play in low limits cash games but if you will play in highstakes whit a sss strategy you just will lose whit the time Blink

With you there, its not poker, i did do it myself to build but hated doing so.
But there are some ppl out there who do it at high stakes, i guess some ppl play for the love of poker outhers for the love of money....or both.

SSS is very predictable in my opinion and only worth if your playin several tables at once. i dont have the patience to play 1 table 20BB, respect to those who can.
i always thought SSS is a beginner strategy, now you say they do that at high stakes too!?
anyways, whenever i played SSS i could of biten my self in the ass cos i had only 20-25BB and not more in some situations Big Smile

ur right but in highstakes if ur a sss u just cant sit and play whit some hands Blink because the table is more tight aggressive and of course you cant find tables of 10-9 players like you can find in low limits you cant play a sss in a shorthanded table because most of the time u will be in early position Blink if u enter on a hand you just dont can place a bet or a all-in if you had a over pair or top pair or just high card like you do in low stakes Blink

sss works in low stakes Blink and i say low stakes to (NL-PL-FX-CAP) 4, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100.
