Bad play.........good play..........what do you think.

I am not an omaha guru but it looks a bit optimistic from both players to go all-in with just one pair.

Betting on the flop looks really strange to me. The minbet from your opponent is a joke, but your bet is a bit low too. The pot is around 600 and you bet only 200 more?

Definitely bad play for Omaha. You have nothing except that overpair and slim chance of catching trips with 7. You got lucky to split the pot here. Guy was drawing to nut flush (also not a best move because he holds 3 suits) and straight draw (also not a best move because it is not nut straight).

What tourney was this? Is it that Omaha 300pts or something else.

I am not really a omaha expert, but what i allways hear that its a postflop game not preflop!
I mean you can raise preflop offcourse but never go allin also not with AAKK.
I mean you can easily beat by a flush/straigth ect.

But maybe i am wrong i am a omaha donkey Big Smile

Doomdy, yer omaha is a post flop gamae for sure, but if you dont raise with good hands you will never get value and will be up against lots of players, so for me i raise altho most dont, they tend to fold or flat call, i think thats weak play and are just waiting to get lucky whilst i bluff them Big Smile
Predobar, what part would you sat was bad? Yes we both got lucky with split pot Smile, was a sng. Who do you think should have folded? I know my call looks real bad but i did have a little info on him(after river), i think he shouild have folded on the flop but i think shokaku has nailed it, i should have bet more on flop. his min bet was normall for him when he doesnt like the flop, when he hits he raises pot or half pot, i expected a fold then.

you need to learn where the fold button is!

i wouldnt have played my AA27 much different i guess. AAT9 is a pretty bad hand for Omaha High/Low and this guy should have layed it down on the flop, if not preflop.

------------
OMG. this is not H/L? (i just read the other posts) Shock

horrible play then in my oppinion. AA27 is a bad hand for high. what exactly do you want to hit with that 2 and 7? you fish for ace or club-flush with that hand (or bluff it).

allright. since we decided to bluff, i like that preflop raise. you are also most likely holding the best hand there.

now (after the flop) you hold nothing but a high pair and reraise your opponent who made a testbet. unfortunately the only chance to have straight or flush is to hold an 89. you are telling your opponent you raised with 89 preflop (maybe TJ or JJ). or that you hold aces (and overplay em now)...

of course he called your thin bluff, on the turn all chips fly in, and you are really lucky to have been able to split the pot.

just my oppinion; since you asked... Tongue

Yes it was horrid play umarplus Smile
Think I had controll, no way did i think he was setting up a trap, with his call pre-flop id put him on kk** or so, would expect him to think im playing wit AA** or akq10 etc.
I should have folded(the all in), but i did know his play, and knew his min raise and his shove was telling me he didnt like his hand but wanted the pot.
Think my bad was the flop, i shudda played it stroger and then wouldent have to make a choice.
But still bad play Smile

I never raise with aces in omaha unless im double suited, and there are alot of bad omaha players out there and its so obvious when they have aces the way they bet.

i have been in a hand one time where it was almost obvious both players i was against had aces, which they did and the worst thing is both just had pair aces with no flush draws, i knew i had a very good chance winning the hand with my double suited conectors so i called allin with then preflop, flop comes and i was 97% to win.

my advice is dont go crazy with aces in omaha its just a pair, see a flop yes but dont go crazy, so many beats happen in omaha, and so many hands.

The only way this may have been good play is that in addition to the Aces the player who has 2, because if it is omaha H/L you at least have a low hand as well as top pair, otherthan that its just bullying with top pair where top pair is not looking so good on both sides of the equation.

Yep too true.
I raise with AA all times but dont normally follw it up like above.
For me i see lots of weak omaha players who just dont raise, if i leave it to them every flop would have 4-7 players involved, so I am the aggresion at the table, works well for me.
