With or without HUD?  0
I'm currently not using a HUD as my laptop seems to be too slow with the party poker software to enable me to multi table, its ok as long as it doesn't have to resize the tables in order to view the stats(Tried using party tools for this). At the minute I play 6 tables at a time and have them all showing on the screen, but they are obviously too small to read any HUD details.
Currently playing NL5 and my profit is 3/100bb, I think I could improve these figures with a HUD. Could somebody please give me advice on the best table layout to use a HUD thats managble(Cascaded tables?) and how many tables are playable whilst interpreting the HUD for a begginer?

Thats the million dollar question.....
I cant get to grips with playing any more than 4 tables with the HUD on i dont get enough time to inturprit the detail. Oh and i dont like to cascade the tables either as i have had a very big loose whilst cascading and hitting the wrong table. I just tile them 4 with HUD and up to 9 without HUD.
You could always get a bigger monitor or get two monitors as my pal does but he somehow manages to play 16 tables with 8 on each screen he has some sort of splitting device so his mouse can go from screen to screen, it's quite cool to watch him do it ( and he makes quite a profit) playing at $1/$2 ring games. Cool
I think as you use the HUD you'll get a bit quicker when reading it so just practice practice practice.

Sometimes i use a HUD, sometimes not.
I play a lot of DoNs and kno allmost all players so at DoNs i dont need a HUD.
When i play regular SNG or MTT i use my best friend HUD Smile

If you don't want to use a HUD, try to make notes on the players you play against on a regular basis. This helps mere than seeing 20/10/1.

That reminded me
I have always kept good notes and the other day i had someone at my table who my notes said, ".01c / .02c micro" "wa/s plr" (what a s**t player) "
His screen name was cashanover and i had him down as a chump. Now he plays Multi table $100 SnGs.
When i scoped him he had a little shark next to his name lol
I suppose everyone starts somewhere. Agree

I use pokertracker Hud. I think it is pretty nice to get an easy read on players.

Better without HUD if you're not going to upgrade your PC soon. But that is ok, there are other ways of doing it... Some people think if they use all methods available to turm the game easier, he will really turn easier but that ain't true. The game is in people's mind not on a computer programmed basis!

keep your HUD stats simple

VP$IP, pre flop raise %, aggression factor, number of hands are all you really need.

Surely you can find room for 4 stats even 6 tabling.

If you laptop is too slow though then you're buggered regardless.
