Aces are strong for sure, but in Omaha you will lose most of the time, if you have no connectors, which means that AAxx is a bad hand. (if those two other cards are no connectors, like another pair, suited cards, or straight draws.) Its MUCH different from NLHE, because there is always someone with at least two pairs, or a set, and very often someone floped the nuts, too. You could say that Omaha is all about getting the nuts.
My favorite hand is definetly a double suited, a pair and straight draw hand. For example: J 10 J 9

There is nothing in Omaha that keep up with the power of pocket aces in Holdem. But double suited aces are a good starting hand. But in Omaha it is more importand how your hand connects with the flop.

I dont tend to play hi/lo, but if I did id want AA23 dubble suited for sure. I do however play a bit of omaha hi, and altho most want AAKK(ds) id much preferr to have double suited hands with four cards in a row.( six and higher) As I dont play much hi/lo its hard to comment but I belive the good players use a pont sysyem, id post it but dont know it.

hate omaha hi/lo, but love the hi game. I usually play mostly conected hands like j1098 etc in hi. In hi/lo, i try to ONLY play hands that r low cards or high cards. not hands like AK2J. The reason is, what am I gonna do on a A210 board of there is a lot of action. So many outs against me and i can't get the nut low AND the nut high. How much stronger wouldn't a 3456 hand look here? it could turn nut low and nut hi. So my advise is to only play high or low cards on plo8

I saw a lot of discussions about the best Omaha starting hand. Some state AAKK double suited because it has the best pre-flop equity, other say AAJT double suited because of it's strategic value.
There is a famous statement for low pocket pairs in texas hold'em: "no set no bet", in Omaha FullRing low stakes you should apply that rule to all your hands.

My fav omaha hi/lo starting hand is AsAd2s3d in omaha hi I don't really have a fav hand because in omaha every good hands can flop big... so Aces are weak there...

You mean: No nuts, no bet?
A set is good enough.
No straight/flush possible you are ahead most of the time and you have a good draw to full+quads. With many people throwing money to the pot with draws you will profitable enough when your set holds or draws to a full house.

Don't forget the set over set situations. They are more common in omaha than in holdem.

The starting hands in Omaha have a different value than in Holdem. AA or KK are monsters in Holdem but in Omaha it's not that strong. But i still prefer AAKK doublesuited. It's always a good base for winning a pot. My funniest Omaha-hand: 8888. Was a clear fold, but looked very nice.
