how to face maniac in mtt  0
hello,

today i became totally confused and didnt start the engine betimes at a 5$ MTT( 5minute blinds) on Ultimate Bet.
I thought the players there play very tight ( as i experienced a lot of time in sng and mtt)
but today there was a totally maniac..unfortunately sitting at my table from the beginning he annoyed everyone.
if some players start to fight back he kicked them out with luck in coinflips.
i didnt found any hand to play and my stack go down -500 until he was kicked out.
i peeked at sharkscope and saw his roi -100% as he was a maniac and no good player exploiting ruthlessly
this was the first tournament my 1st forward-action was a shove as my M was 7
i won this and brought it back to M15 in some hands but all the tournament seemed to be like a freeroll
maniacs there maniacs here triple shove´s ...
wow
never seen something like this before..
i leaved 26th at 18 payed positions with a feeling of confusion..
the consequence i lost 4 sng at pokerstars on a little tilt after this - before i cashed the 5th and stopped playing for today

What do you expect in a game with 5 min blind levels?

There is no time to wait for good hands. So you have to open up your game.

usually i´m in a comfortable situation within the first 2 or 3 blind levels ( in turbos too)

There is no time to wait for good hands. So you have to open up your game.

i tried to.. but would you face a reraise that would cost you 40% of your stack to call at 10/20 blinds with sc´s ( or shove them?)

Naturely one can't just call that. It is shove or fold.

yeh, its here that game theory comes into play I think... You have to go with the percentages or risk being blinded away.

Turbo games are always troublesome especially with a maniac in your table, there's no time to wait for a monster hand. You have to play a little loose. You need some time to get used to it and know when to push/fold.

I've never gotten the fascination with Turbo STT and MTT's, too much luck involved imo. The best way to play against a lucky maniac is to not play against him at all, let everyone else mess with him.

theres maniacs everywhere so thats poker, just try nail them with the best hand and you good.5 min blinds is pretty quick so you gunna get quick all ins.try 10 or 15 may work better. Dollar Dollar

OK, I shouldent say as im a little manic, lag sounds better :}. (not so much in tourns tho)
re-raise with any A, pairs, and connectors J-T+ (if playing me I will be re-raising or call behind you) be selective, you want the Manic HU, and if your lucky he will be on your right. Outher than that hope the table opens up (loosens)
