i have only been here with brm since march 09....have been reading many threads, taking in alot of good advice,tips,gameplay ect...would love to here more...i have improved my patience in tortaments and am a much better rounded player since starting here...here are some things ive gotten and learned...and would LOVE to learn more..

Here are some basic probabilities every player should know:

Flush Probabilities
Probability of being dealt suited cards 23.5%
Probability of flopping a flush when holding two suited cards 0.8%
Probability of flopping a flush draw when holding two suited cards 10.9%
Probability of hitting a flush draw (both turn/river, needing one card to hit) 35%

Straight Probabilities
Probability of hitting an open-ended straight draw (i.e. 4 straight cards, need one on either end to hit on turn or river) 31.5%
Probability of hitting a gutshot draw (inside straight draw) on turn or river 16.5%

Pocket Pair Probabilities
Probability of being dealt a pocket pair 5.9%
Probability of hitting a three of a kind or quads at the flop when you hold a pocket pair 11.8%
Probability of being dealt AA 0.45%

Unpaired Hole Cards Probabilities
Probability of making a pair with one of your hole cards (ex: hitting an ace or a king if you hold AK) 32.4%
Probability of hitting two pair on the flop with each of your hole cards (example: hitting both an ace and a king on the flop, when holding AK) 2%

Ace Probabilities
Probability that at least one of your hole cards is an ace 14.9%
Probability of no one holding an ace, assuming you do not have an ace. Note: this can be used for any card (because the chances of you being dealt an ace or a king is the same).

This is the real stuff behind poker. If you have a pair in the hand, wether is AA or 22, the probability of get a third one at the flop is always the same.
But you can loose using this probabilities if you dont take in consideration some players skill to turn the game into their side. You have got to learn how to read oponents minds and try to guess what they can have in their hands. One can make low bet and have nuts, other can make high bets and have 2-7. Its important to understand if oponents are playing truely or bluffing. That is the most beautiful part of poker, not waiting for our cards to be the best. When that happens noone plays that hand! lol ive noticed that...i play aginst ppl n watch there style n how they bet...shitty thing is...they play position every hand with the same bet...so when i move over top of them KNOWING there playing possition they actually have a great hand lol...i have bad luck no matter what i have they have better...played a hand the other day i had jj, guy on the buton raised (as he ussally did) i reraised, he called...flop came 44j giving me the full house...he raised the i raised allin...buddy had 44 Sad....needless to say it wuz a 130$ hand i couldnt get away from

Thats pure unluck, but if you have a proper bankrollmanagement, it wont hurt you too much and if you dont follow any, then I feel very sorry for you...

yeah its all in how you manage the game.it take awhile to be able to put it all together and play consistent winning poker.if you cant kilkl your bankroll in a couple of bad sessions you may be ok.

lol yeah ive had some good runs and sdome bad runs...months n months ago before learnin more and becomin a better player i bought into partypoker for 50$ after 2 hours launched upto 430$...then of course lost it all in 2 bad hands...but for some reason i cant boost up that quick no more mabye im to paranoid to get into a spot were most of my bankrolls at jepordy?
