Im not for one second suggesting that online poker is rigged, but i assure you that someone with expert knowledge CAN do it. Can anyone tell me who governs poker? who makes sure the R N G is 100% fair? and as its still illegal in many parts of the world there is nothing to stop certain sites from putting in a few ghost players for themselves. until it is legalised i would not be 100% certain that you are getting a 100% honest game, this is a multi billion pound industry that is totaly ungoverned ,and when money like that is involved i would never be so sure.

I think one of the main reasons why the big sites dont need to rigg the sites is because who ever wins the house wins ... no matter what happens on the table the rake is shipping in to the house, the house ALWAYS win.
Theres only one cause why they would rigg it and that would be as an pre-caution against a very good player not to milk broke all the players ... i have tought about this but came to the conclusion that using advanced rigg mechanism would need so much computer/server power that it is physically impossible.
One example that is very common amongst players saying that sites are rigged is this : "I had 50 $ and got it up to 570 $ but then i couldnt win a single hand/coinflip ... it rigged against me because the site didnt want me to cash out". But have you tought about that there are also often 9 other players sitting at the same table ? Imagine what computer processes it must take to make a functionally rigg , (player 3 deposited on 4 march 2008 and have a profit of 190 $ ... player 4 deposited on may 20 2009 and is down -30 $) imagine this happening at hundreds of tables at once. Not even NASAs computers could do that ...
As you say "internet poker is a multimillion pund industry", and that is absolutely right ! So why would they want to RISK it all by making dishonest sites?
Please tell me if i spelled something wrong or how it could be said in a better way ... i bet there are a lot of missspelling.

If they are alredy making tons and tons of money, why would they want to take your 100$ bankroll... They dont need that, and i believe the most important thing in a poker site is that you should trust them... We often see people saying XXXX is rigged. If its rigged then why 7k people (to say a little network) play at those tables..

yup, makes no sense. of course you can rig it easy as its just bits and bytes but why risk your license....i wont say for "only a couple billions" as you can earn much more if it was rigged but still its simply to risky and alot people would have been involved in this project....too risky in my opinion.
i would say 85% of the players who say its rigged never really experienced a real bad beat, and then agian i would say they shouldnt have played 85% of the hands they played...
once i even read a post (not on this forum) someone complaining that pokerstars is rigged because he experienced many bad beats in "a tourny".....i was like "whats the benefit of riggin a tourny?" his answer: the fee lol
edit: oh btw, the only thing i think its rigged is the MOB DRAW cough

like anything its all open to cheating online poker is no exception,poker sites have been busted cheating,POTRIPPER is a good example.but remember,poker is all about vaiables,you win some you lose some,play at your local casino if you have one.
I have thought that about online poker sometimes myself, especially when a player at a table can hit quads at the same table less than 5 mins apart. Just play with caution

I don't think onlinepoker is rigged by the companys behind them. But the possibility that someone working inside the company abusives his authority and cheats (like potripper) exists. But something like that will most likely only take place in the higher stakes´, where the money a really big.
There will also always be many players who cheats. Scandals at Party Poker with JJProdigy and Zeejustin forexample.
But in general I believe there are an okay control on most sites. I have especially heard good things about Pokerstars, and I also have the impression that Full Tilt is very well organized.

Anouther thread iv not botherd to read. If a bus hits you are roads rigged. If you miss a train is the rail network rigged. No RNG are not random, in fact they dont even generate numbers. its just a coffee machine in disguise
The only thing a site can do to create extra income is to make sure that every 50 hands or so, 2 big hands have a showdown with a big pot so the rake is even higher then usual. It's not hard to program it and it's very safe because nobody would notice, they would just say it's another bad beat losing with KK against AA or AA against JJ with a J on the flop. I'm not saying the pokerrooms are doing this kind of things but it would be just another way for them to earn some extra money.

I am not gonna even try anymore ^^. And personally I don't care what U think wether it's rigged or not. It's an ongoing issue wich will never end. I don't care, I live from poker. It's my income. So if I lose with AA against KK or other way around... f**k it? Rebuy then.
