Dear Mom & Dad
I am writing you to say all going happy with me. I know you all didnt like the fact that i moved too thailand to play full time poker and trying to make a living out off it. Well, sorry for that but i was really tired off my ''9 too 5'' job and the stressfull bills so i saved some money and thought i ''give it a go''.
The start was hard here, first i lived in cheap hotels cause my first goal was to get a steady income from online poker. I did this for 1 month, then i moved too another house which was very big and not too expensive. I lived there with 2 Swedish guys who did the same as me, so we all played someting like 6 too 8 hours online poker a day. We lived like kings cause the daily expenses are so very cheap here compaired too European countrys.
Last months ago i did a big live tourney in Manila, i didnt cash in the main event but won nice money in one off the side events ($13,600). After that i rented another house just for my own. Its a really nice big house at the beach, have my own swimming pool, and my own cleaning lady who also makes me dinner every day. I dont play as much poker as i did before, i guess i play 5 hours average a day, thats far enough to have the life i have right now. I also started to do other hobbys, i do surfing on the waves every day, and work out for like 2 hours a day so i am really healthy now Mom.
I hope you all can forgive me for me decision to leave my country and move too thailand. I did send you 2 tickets so if you want to visit me, any time, you can stay at my house as long as you want, looking forward too it.

Posted by MrMan: Well doomdy, if I am not mistaken this is your dream
It's a nice dream, but do you get your grilfriend to move to Thailand? Or do you have to dump her, and find a local girl?
Well not really a dream, its just a made up story, if i was in my early 20s then this was an option, i have a monthly flow from pokerprofit so its doable i guess.
And no i never wud dump my gf and kiddo not in a million years, i have a pretty nice live now

Thay is great. Passed my honeymoon there... great vacations! But bahts suck, and Miangmar is almost at civil war, what can bring problems too. But if you make nice monthly winnings and dont have difficulties withdrawing, i think you have made a good decision. The travel is paid, what are your parents waiting to forgive everything wrong you have done before and go visit you? Paid expenses... Proud sometimes can be a very bad thing... Good luck doomdy, see you at PKR - already played against you once, $10 double up, both won but got 1st against you in the end !

Posted by Flangel: Well I am deffo considering ( already decided) to move out of belgium. it will be UK, or Indonesia ( ye quite big difference) .
No sure wich one. Both have their advantages / disadvantges for me.
What are your reasons for moving if you dont mind me asking? poker legislation/ taxes? Or non poker related? I am just a micro stakes player atm so i don't really know about taxes and other poker related issues in belgium.

Being 50 yo I would expect Dunotra not to have these issues with his parents, that is, unless he still gets the odd piece of 'bitty' from mummy lol
This is actually part of my 5 year plan. I spent a while in Thailand a few years back and fell in love with it, so I'm planning spending some more time - maybe a year or so - sitting on the beach all day one day then poker the next. I reckon I can do this with a roll for NL50 and live very comfortable, with a good Thai massage, once a day

Yep. But if you play mid stakes you may not win enough to pay for a living in europe.
I know a fella who plays NL25x4 for a living, he rents a flat, drives a car and still gets on it at the weekend he does live in Cornwall though, the ass end of england!
