I really dont understan why pokersites havent introduced this yet, it really changes the game in cash games (on lower stakes) ... if you win the pot with 7-2 everybody MUST pay one BB to you
Imagine sitting on the BB with 7-2 on 0.10 0.25 stakes full ring ... everybody folds to you and you win the pot of 0.35 with 7-2 . Thats 9x0.25 = 2.25 $ shipping to you !!!

I have never heard of a poker site doing this but I have in live casinos. I have played this rule in a cash game at my university poker society. It's kind of interesting play, mixes things up a bit.
The way it worked when i play it is that everyone at the table pays a bounty (a big blind usually) to anyone who shows 7 2 as a winning hand. It didn't matter how they won or how many ppl were involved in the hand and everyone had to pay.
So if someone went all in with 7 2 after four limpers and everyone folded, he would also get seven free big blinds on top (8 handed). But if someone found a good hand called and the better hand held up no one had to pay. I would say though that the rule only really works in cash games.

Yeah, I have seen it at UltimateBet, too. Maybe AbsolutePoker also has it because of same network.

So it is true, no shock to see UB taking it on board, couldent thik of a better way to reward clowns. Do ppl pay extra on these tables, or have to choose to play on a 72 table, who in the right mind would think its a good idea, to me its compleat crazyness, ok for short promo but OMG 72.....

I actually think it's a good idea. As I said above I've played this rule before and enjoyed it but I wouldn't want to make it a permanent rule of cash nl holdem. It should be a rule that applies only on some tables in the same way that party offers different tables for different buy-in limits and no disconnect protection etc. I think it will really take off with some users and be a casual alternative way of playing for others like myself. Cash games only though and it would be really great if the site could chip into the pot for the winner if the hand is raked.

The 7-2 game is often played on High Stakes Poker if any one wants to see it in action best look there. I believe all episodes can be found on you tube.
Regardless of the stakes it certainly adds a new element to the game, to quote Phil Laak:
" Pokers a really sick game but playin 7-2 just makes it even sicker "
I don't know if I like it cause I've never tried but introducing some cash tables with it seems like a great idea.

Take down any qualifying pot* between now and midnight Sunday with 7-2 off-suit (AKA: 'The hammer') and we'll reward you with an extra cash prize worth 15 times the big blind! See website for details.''

it looks a weird promotion encouraging people to play with 7-2, its really difficult to win with 7-2 unless you are very lucky. so you are just gonna lose. just a stupid promotion encouraging donk play.

i remember a site who has giving a reward for players who have won a all in hand with 7 2 but you needed to let the site know all kind off information by mail as for example the name off the table , the name off your opponent(s) , the number off the game ....... i just can't remember the name off the site because it was a while ago .

For me I think poker is quite a serious game, fun yes but serious, so there is no need what so ever for stupid gimmics like this, it just shows how bad the site is and how they are scrabbling for new players. Leave the beloved game alone... You wont see this sort of thing in any outher sport, a diver getting extra points for a belly flop, a ice scater getting extra for losing a finger or a baseball player getting a home run for being KO by the pitcher etc, no wounder poker is not taken serious.
