Hi, do anyone know how is the ICM calculated? And also, how can I calculate it fast, because sometimes I have only few seconds to act and that is not enough to calc some complicated formula

ICM means "indepedent chip model". And you use it to play sngs. A short desciption: the sng is split in 3 parts, the early, the middle and the late game. and for every part of the game you have a special card range wich you play. In the middle/late game, depends on your stack, you push your hand all in or fold. You wont call anything; just push or fold! But better you google that for more/better information. It´s real mathmatically Blink

Sorry about my english, but i´m busy! Smile

Yep.

Google for icm calculator or something like that. You should then be able to find a program that will help you in your play.

lol this is pretty cool... let me know if u get anymore info about this inependent chip model so i can improve my sng skills... btw if every1 is using the same range won't it be weird =p u can easily guess what your opponent is shoving with and he knows what u have as well Tongue

You don't use the same range as everyone. ICM can be a lot more effective if you can adjust it against your opponents push/call ranges. Same stack, position and cards you can make a good call against one kind of player who shoved and a correct instant fold against another.

That's is not possible for a human being. ahahah
What you have to do is download some programs which help you to improve your decisions.

ICM is a really complex model and it changes when you put your oponnets is differents ranges, making even harder calculate in a real situation.

I recommend you download S&G wizard. Although It's not allowed to use while you are playing, you will be able to check your decision in the push or fold phase after, and realize your mistakes.

ICM is a joke, Sklansky like.

If you need software to play poker, you are way outta league.

ICM software help u to improve your decision when it is a Push or Fold Phase so in thre last stage of a SNG or MTT.
U can be the best player in the first two sage but If u are unable to manage last stage of tourney will never win big prizes .

so I agree with Doomdy

thx for answers, I saw some videos where someone calculate the push/fold decision, the only I find out is that in CG if you win coinflip you are at double stack, but f. e. in DoN SNG if you win coin flip you are at about 1.6 of your value because you still can loose your position in turney and win nothing... F.E. you sholdnt call allin in situation that you will be 60:40... which could look like nonsence
