PokerStars and Latin America Poker tour will visit Punta del Este in Uruguay between 17th - 20th March. The main event expects to attract more than 300 players who will pay the buy-in of $3500+$200. Notable players that already have registered are Victor Ramdin, Greg Raymer and, Humberto Brenes. Also worth mentioning is that LAPT Nuevo Vallarta tournament that was stopped half way through in December last year will finally get a winner as they have decided to run the final table with the remaining 9 players on the side of the LAPT Punta del Este main event.

In December 2008 LAPT Nuevo in Mexico was played but unfortunately the tournament was stopped only half the way through by the local gambling authority. The players that were still in the tournament when it was stopped received cash according to how much chips they had left. They were also offered to take part in an online tournament to crown a winner. When this online tourney was down to 9 remaining players the tournament organizers decided to make the final table live in Punta del Este instead of online. Victor Ramdin is one of those 9 players that now have chance to take home both the Punta del Este Main Event and the LAPT Nuevo Vallarta event.
