391 players paid the buy-in of $10,000 to this year's WPT Bay 101 shooting Star tournament, many of them celebrities and poker pros. Now Day 1a, Day 1b and Day 2 have been played and there are only 36 remaining players and 4 "shooting stars" left as Day 3 is about to start. In the lead we find Michael Kamran, Tony Behari, Chris Moore closely followed by Dan O'Brien & John Monnette.
When the Bay 101 shooting Star tournament began a couple of days ago there were 50 "Shooting Stars" - players with bounties on their heads. The player who knocks out one of these players will receive $5,000 in cash and a custom made t-shirt that the "shooting star" has to autograph. Yesterday when day 2 finished there were only 4 bounties left, Kathy Liebert, Paul Wasicka, Hoyt Corkins, and Joe Sebok.
Biggest bounty hunter of Day 2
John Monnette busted both Freddy Deeb and Brandon Cantu during day 2 in the same hand. He went all-in with A-Q, paired up on the flop to beat Deeb's pocket tens and Brandon's pocket fours. This means that Deeb who won the most recent event won't be a two-in-a-row WPT champion.
