The second starting day of World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star kicked off yesterday and saw a massive field that matched the size of this entire tournament last season. The total number of participants stands at 635, but the number is still unofficial according to WPT's website.
About 253 players (from Day 1A and Day 1B) will return to play later on today. Big names who made it through to Day 2 included Jason Somerville, Scott Seiver, Maria Ho (picture), Dan Kelly, Andy Frankenberger and Eugene Katchalov.
The second day starts at 11 a.m. today. The levels will increase to 90 minutes and play will last until 2.a.m PT. Rhea Motley will bring the largest pile of chips from Day 1B (243k), but he's about 100k behind Andrew Lichtenberger from Day 1A (341,000).
