The second starting day of World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star kicked off yesterday and saw a massive field that matched the size of this entire tournament last season. The total number of participants stands at 635, but the number is still unofficial according to WPT's website.

About 253 players (from Day 1A and Day 1B) will return to play later on today. Big names who made it through to Day 2 included Jason Somerville, Scott Seiver, Maria Ho (picture), Dan Kelly, Andy Frankenberger and Eugene Katchalov.

The second day starts at 11 a.m. today. The levels will increase to 90 minutes and play will last until 2.a.m PT. Rhea Motley will bring the largest pile of chips from Day 1B (243k), but he's about 100k behind Andrew Lichtenberger from Day 1A (341,000).

We will be back with another update tomorrow! The total prize pool and payout structure should be announced by then!

Seems like known poker players had more chances in the day 2 than in day 1, maybe it was because of the bigger size of the field, can’t write about their position because I don’t know how many chips they have, but still they did better than their fellow pros in the day 1. Jason Somerville, probably the most known name among the remaining field, still have a lot to do in the middle of the other 252 players.
