Day 5 of the 2009 WSOP Main Event has been completed and a total of 185 players are going to show up to continue playing during day 6.

The average stack at the moment is a bit over 1 Million.

Below you can find a list of some interesting players that are still in the running to become the 2009 WSOP Main Event Champion.

Kasper Cordes - Denmark - 4.300.000

Mika Puumalainen - Finland - 2.894.000

Phil Ivey - USA - 1.380.000

Hac "trex313" Dang - USA - 1.280.000

Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari - 1.227.000

Dennis Phillips - USA - 1.009.000

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - France - 970.000

Peter Eastgate - Denmark - 927.000

Prahlad Friedman - USA - 715.000

Christer Björin - Sweden - 693.000

David Denyamine - France - 640.000

Joe Hachem - Australia - 540.000

As you can see from this list there are still a couple of previous Main event winners that are still in the tournament. The most amazing achievment must be that Peter Eastgate who won this event last year is still in the running.

Dennis Phillips who was one of the November Nine last year is also still in the running and maybe he will manage to get his revenge this year.

I can see there is no bet yet. It is very hard to point a possible winner at this time. Will the finnish Puumaleinen take the lead without loosing it till the end (mp)? Will Kasper Cordes hang on Phil Ivey pression (db)? Does Joe Hachem as what it takes to double his current stack and find a place in the final table (db)? Will Eastgate repeat last years success(db)? Many things can happen...

mp = most probably
db = dont believe

There are still a lot of excellent players. But personally I would like to see in the final tables the following names: Phill Ivey, Berttrand elky grospellier and Antonio Esfandiari. I think these three players are favourites! but it is only my opinion.

Elky is out. Ivey and Esfandiari are both in a good position. Last years 3rd place finisher Phillips is still in the tourney, but has a smaller stack.

Yep Benyamine is bust.
Still a close game I think, even some of the small stakes have a real chance big hill but possable.
