PokerStars, the world's biggest poker site, has just announced on their website that they will organize a tournament called Americas Cup of Poker. In Americas Cup of Poker, players from 16 countries will have the chance to compete against each other and help their nation to the final. The final will take place at a ski resort in Bariloche, situated against the backdrop of the Andes, in the region of Patagonia. The final will be played live, and the 2 most successful countries in ACP (Americas Cup of Poker) will have the chance to win $250,000.

Players from the following 16 countries have the chance to compete and help their nation in Americas Cup of Poker: USA, Mexico, Ecuador, Canada, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Guatemala, Panama and Honduras. Every day, PokerStars, will run freerolls and tournaments where the 16 countries above will be divided into groups and play against each other. The two countries that are the most successful and accumulate the most points will then go on to the final in Argentina, and have the chance of winning some serious cash.

Interested in a 100% up to $50 deposit bonus at PokerStars and to compete for your nation?

well tournament between countries is a good idea but the the outlay of tournament doesn't look good. players accumulating points through freerolls and then top 2 countries going, that just looks dumb.

It seems a very good idea, and can be a start to make what so many talk about for so long: rank best and worst poker playing countries. Perhaps pokerstars have prepared the following of this tourney, spreading it through the whole world. One day we will have the WSOOP (World Series of Online Poker), where the entrance is guaranteed by the best players of each country in the world with the best mark at a certain tourney (created just for this ocasion). Looks like an excelent idea to develop (too late for me to sell it to someone, at least offer me the possibility of entering the first time the event takes place for free)!
