HighStakes: Good week for Finnish poker players

Tags: durrr, finland, full tilt poker, Ilari Sahamies, martonas, patrik antonius, tom dwan.
Posted on 02 September 2009 by "T".

Last week was a great week for some high stakes players from Finland. However, the most successful of those were Patrik Antonius who won over a million dollars, and his fellow countryman, Ilari Sahamies, who won close to half a million dollars. Most of the money Antonius won came from the American pro Tom "durrr" Dwan. Tom "durrr" Dwan came to be the biggest loser last week with around $900,000 lost. But as we all know, that is not an amount that Tom Dwan will cry so much over.

Another poker player that lost a lot of money last week was "Martonas", or the "unknown Swede" as many people call him. It seems like "Martonas" has given up playing on the highest stakes at Full Tilt poker. Because lately he can be found on the lower stakes at Full Tilt. Probably he has realized that he can't afford the enormous swings, or just think its easier making money on the lower stakes?

durrrr is slowly getting hurt, he managed to be at a + after 3/4 of the year passed and now heading back to -. The rain of durrrr is over ppl are getting used to his play he best swollow pride and take a sponsership.
Half way there PA, there will be anouther 1.5 mill to PA + i guess 2 mll in winnings, thats gotta hurt.
He could always team up with Gus.
Martonas now plays a guitar at random subways, trying to get enougth to keep tom alive.

Another victory for Patrick against durrrr, this is becoming a legendary fight! And Martonas, is he really going to give up the high stakes without revealing is identity? Perhaps its the best thing to do, but if he had won a lot, everybody would love to know who he is. Maybe in a few months he will get back to the high thrill!!!

900K!!! Oh my god, I lost 5 bucks and I get crazy, I can't imagine how Dawn is felling after this week.

About Martonas, I had read about him in forums and I guess we will know who is in the future, although after his down he may be wants to disappear.

Thought I ran into Martonas the other day, we have a new paper boy and when I asked his name he ran away. Then I heared someone say "Hey isn't that Martonas? No couldn't be!" and he just kept running like Forest Gump. Damn that boy can run
