For the second year in a row, the general public can vote on their favorite poker players who they think deserves to get inducted into the poker hall of fame. They may also write up to 250 words in support of their choice. On September 13, a list with the players that have received the most votes will be sent to the 16 living Hall of Fame players and a selected group of media members who will rank the nominees in order of preference. After that the Hall of Fame committee have made a final review, the top 2 vote-getters will be inducted at an enshrinement ceremony at the Main Event final table in November, 2010.
The requirements for the Poker Hall of Fame are:
▪ A gambler must have played poker against acknowledged top competition,
▪ Played for high stakes,
▪ Played consistently well, gained the respect of peers,
▪ And stood the test of time.
▪ Or, for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.
