Times are good for Ilari Sahamies

The Finnish poker pro Ilari Sahamies has been doing extremely well at PokerStars high stakes tables lately. In a little bit more than a week's time he has won more than $1 million dollars. In total, he's up about 2.3 million this year - the highest total anyone has reached this year in the high stakes scene (according to different results tracking sites).

One of his best sessions this year came on Tuesday night at the $200/$400 PLO tables. Well, on one table he lost around $120k, but that didn't stop him from winning amazing $535k on another table - in just a few hours. It was a well- deserved profit for our favorite Finn.

Not a big fan of him, he is more a gambler then poker player imo, so many times he is not far from busto then a good run makes him god again.
Offcourse he has so much more skills then us average BRM players, but i like more players who see poker as a serious job rather then ''the gambler''.
Anyway good he is back, just to see the nosebleeds tables are a bit back, its not the days from FT so we must give it some time.

The work he has done during one week was enough to almost double what he was winning counting since January till now and also enough become first in the biggest winner 2011 rank. This can only means he is doing a great job. And this picture illustrates this the better way possible. It is like if he was saying “Ahhh… life’s great!”

I think he play poker just for money, at least he forgot enjoy MTT, if someone win million from cash game why play MTT except big tourney like WSOP, did he play there ?

agree he has big downswings because of his super-aggro style but he's having a good run this year.

That was a very decent profit... Potlimit Omaha is just a evil game... On a roll one day in the dark the next day.. Too many sings in potlimitomaha for liking .. But Congrats on the taking

I must agree with thomas that pot limit omaha is a brutal game when it comes to huge swings, since you basically need to bet on unformed hands...

Still, there is no excuse for playing drunk ike Ilari used to do sometime ago.
